I'm planning a trip down south, anyone know of any cycle related activities in The Capital next Saturday?
Will be nice to see you again.
This time I will look less bedraggled, more like a proper Belle on a bike

Punctured at 50kmh descending shiel brae. Now understand why bib shorts are mostly black, scariest moment on the bike since I noticed the hole in @Edwardoka s bib shorts near the start of a 100 mile day

Shielbrae is dangerous !! I have crashed twice on it , two mates crashed into each other on it because of the gravel in middle of the road and got took to the hospital in a lorry^_^, other mate hit pothole and went over the handlebars and when descending north side I came face to face with a council tar lorry at 30mph  and just managed to stop a foot fae the lorry .
I nearly forgot , there is a spar missing from one of the cattle grids as well , anyway glad your Ok :okay:

its a shame they don't keep it in better condition, its a good climb through a good area for cycling, they also need to fix the Carron valley road....I know they've fixed the Tak as i went up it last week i just hope they have plans to fix all roads up that area

Yeah a bunch of guys from thereabouts (RKCC?) who were staying in the hostel said that it had been fixed, will need to swing by at some point.

I started doing Shielbrae over 20 years ago and apart from one bit at top it is the same old surface , wasn't the best back then but is shocking now ,I stopped doing it from the north as the gravel on the south side makes for a challenging decent , Don't know if it is Stirling Council responsible for the whole road , Carronbridge is where North Lanarkshire , Falkirk and Stirling Councils boundaries all meet .
Carron valley road to Fintry is a bone rattler , they did fix the bit at the picnic area but the descent to near the Crow is murder .
