I'm back on the ice bike tomorrow @Telemark need to leave the house before 6am, probably there will be ice
Had to give the ice bike a clean tonight and change the rear brake pads. I thought the temperature was positively milder, bah!
Got a nice bit of road rash on my right arm, just as well I was wearing double layers.
I'm away to take the plaster off

ouuuuuuuuuch!
Glad you are not too badly hurt! Forgot to ask ... is the bike OK? Which one was it?
Got a big bruise on my right arm, another one on my right leg, swollen too, strange because it's not sore or cut.
The bike was Mr. Doubtfire, 3 stone paper-bike, she is indestructible!
Not even a dent, actually, the squealy brakes have self healed after the crash

Fell off the bloody bike today
A few yards away from home, it was icy, and I wasn't on the ice bike, stupid me ... auch!
Then on the commute home, a car almost collided with me, he wasn't going to stop at the give way, the silly sod ... harumph!:cursing:
Arghhh! Sorry to hear you've had an off, Pat. GWS :hugs:. It's to be milder tomorrow morning but only briefly; back to :cold: on Friday, so get those Schwalbe ice tyres back on!

They are on a bike all winter, just thought it was too mild for ice this morning.
Oh well, serves me right for being complacent

Sounds like one of those days. I hope the bruises heal soon.

If nothing else it shows how worthwhile ice tyres are.

Embra people, have you heard about Andy, the storytelling cycle tour leader?
http://www.storybikes.co.uk/
I assisted on a few of his tours for the Glasgow cycle festival last year.
Andy died recently on his bike, while riding to a friend's funeral, not a crash, a heart attack I was told.
Very sad, he was only 60. His web page and facebook are still up.
