Wind has dropped below 40mph for the first time in about 10 days, and miraculously, it's not raining! I'm off out on the ice spiked tyre shod MTB, before the next storm closes in tomorrow. I will be heading mainly east, then using Scotrail to battle the headwind .

Hail storms galore here, all last night, intermittently all day.
I didn't have to commute.
Late shift tomorrow, the ice bike will take me there and back no probs.
Strangely, it seems the city centre and the west end did not get any hail storms, the Tuesday social ride went ahead, they said it was cold but sunny all morning

Got caught in a blizzard on the off road section at Garshangan, between Loch Thom and Kilmacolm. Not a lot of cafes in the area! Quite a bit of snow on the ground from Brisbane Glen to Kilmacolm, but no sign of the white stuff just a few miles further on at Bridge of Weir. Strava details here. I'm blaming the average speed on the snow and lack of recent activity!

Marathon studded tyres saw me safely to work this morning, lots of ice even on the main roads. And saw me safely home this evening, great fun on nice powdery fresh snow up Currie hill, looping around Harlaw and back down Currie Hill, making the sharp right to Blinkbonny no problem. The only dampener to the ride was that it was still snowing at the time, cold, wet and a bit of a challenge seeing where I was going at times.

No music in the bath chair - just sound of the wind in my ears ... and the fwapping of my lips as they fwapp in the high-speed wind

It was a bit strange last night - at 5pm the road was wet but not icy, at 6pm it was sheet ice and by 8pm the ice was replaced by snow - Welcome to Scotland!

Hmmm, the sound of your wind in my ears - I wondered what that noise was coming down off the Bouglie!
