Lucky you! What's a lunch time ride during the week?
T

Was working from home so it was just a quick spin from Leith along to Cramond and back.

I suppose I can't really complain, have a lot of cycling built into my days, and there is now even daylight and sometimes sunshine in the morning :sun:, like today :wahhey:. Evening commutes are still pitchblack most days, even though there was perhaps a tiny hint of some left-over daylight to the west just before 7pm  ('my fault' for working long hours, I suppose:banghead: ...)

Tomorrow I will have cycled more km in the 2 months of 2014 than in the whole of 2011 :smile:

You'll need to review your annual mileage target at this rate.
I'm pleased to be almost on track with this year's target already. Last year it took me until the end of May to catch the red line.

Can't wait to ditch the lights. Another week or so should do it for me.

I'm quite happy with my target at the moment, about half a month ahead of myself just just - you never know when you need the reserve built up. If/when I reach it, I will change it .

It'll be a while before I can go without lights in the evenings ... bl**dy deadlines ...

@Col5632 - did you mean the Buttercup cafe? Open Saturday & Sunday until 2:30pm :thanks:

T
Aye, that's the one. It came as a very pleasant surprise when Col, Fubar and I were having a 'wee daunder' around the route of some sportive a couple of years ago ... when I was a whole lot fitter :pump:

Did some work on the Nazca today - lovely sunshine when I finished, so popped upstairs to get cycling gear on, only to come down and see the dark clouds hovering. Waited a wee while ... then :rain:, so back to making veg soup for tea ...

Might manage a :bicycle: tomorrow, after taking Scoosh jnr back to Glasweegieland in the late forenoon.

A question that would probably be best answered by @Pat "5mph" , @Rasmus or @Harry_Palmer79 as they are most used to cycling in Glasgow - but anyone else feel free to answer!

Now that I'm working in the centre of Glasgow, I'm planning to commute by bike. Now I imagine that from Cumbernauld I'll cycle down the old A80 and Stepps bypass by I'm looking for tips to get from there to Bothwell Street where my new office is.

Any thoughts?
I'm not quite sure where it begins from or how good it is (on the to do list!), but the cycling route from Cumbernauld drops you in Townhead, across Buchanan bus station.
From there follow all the buses  down Renfield street, cross at Central to join Bothwell Street.
Quite busy streets, but normally congested so traffic is slow.
Just googled that route: seems it follows Royston Road from Cumbernauld, maybe a detour for you.

You can see the seven sisters, and the colours are kept as realistic as possible (no its not Disneyland)…

I only managed to fit in a couple of quick shopping trolley rides ... bl**dy work getting in the way. Three appendices to the report done today, another couple left for tomorrow ...... off to bed now:tired:
