Was in Sports Direct at the weekend and they have some nice Karrimor stuff in stock just now. I got a Karrimor High Viz cycling jacket in fluro orange. Reduced from £59.99 to £19.99. Looks to be very good for the price although I haven't tried it out yet.

Are those Karrimor Jackets wind proof/waterproof? I'm looking for a warm windproof jacket rather than using my waterproof as the weather (supposedly) gets warmer.

Thanks. It's a great frame and reduced from £425 to £225 was a bit of a steal. The ultegra sl gear sets it off really well too.

This is a very dangerous thread. This all started off as "ooh look - someone's posted details of a cheap ultegra sl crankset in the 'found a bargain' thread. That will make a good upgrade for number 2 bike". It kind of snowballed from there.

They are wind/waterproof, yeah. Although I still haven't tried it as of yet. I will be wearing this ( to substitute my trusty Altura Compton ) over a Nalini winter jacket for my commute to work. The Altura is thinner than the Karrimor so I'd say the orangey one will be quite warm, even just worn over a long sleeved winter jersey.

It's made of a ( looking at the surface of the fabric ) sort of ripstop, loads of little squares type polyester mix. Haven't a clue what the breathability of it will be like but then again, what actually does breathe properly these days??!!!.

I got one of the Karrimor Jackets a few days ago and I used it this morning and on the way back tonight. Heavy rain both ways. It is (so far) more breathable than my Altura waterproof jacket, quite a bit lighter and I wasn't too wet underneath. Although it isn't as warm as my Altura but only by a bit.

This is a good one! 18% off EVERYTHING at www.wheelies.co.uk - massive selection. Use code AXAPPP at checkout. In fact I have a code for 20% if you want to PM me. They are a huge retailer that services mainly the insurance replacement market, but they also do discount codes for employer schemes. The AXA one is for AXA clients and I found it by googling it. The 20% one is for an employer scheme and I prefer not to name it publicly. I just got an Endura jacket with RRP £90 for £64 posted. The next best was £74 elsewhere

I bought a couple of wind up LED headlights from Wilkinson's, reduced to half marked price, £3.50 approx from around £7 (if you get any, check your recept though as they came up at £4.97 each time, which was changed when told of the error). OK, there not meant for bikes, but I've used the straps to tie them onto my handlebars as extra lights, and they have stayed on even over bumps and terrible road surfaces. You don't need to replace the batteries either, you just wind them up for a minute to charge them up. 3 settings (single LED, triple LED and flashing).
