Fitted 2 rear bulbs in mini as led have a spot of light rather than filling the lense with light. Not sure they are original?

The Ka used the really old Ford engine for a long time. They rust to bits is the major issue. MrsF's 99 Yaris is still going strong, if a bit tatty as it's not been looked after since we sold it many years ago.

My daughter brought (tbf, a fairly old) Ka, absolutely hated it. And rust...one of the front A pillars had rotted through, bit worrying for what I assume is a fairly structural part of the body.

My first car was an elderly KA, I had it about three years and though it only broke down on me once at every service there was something that needed replacing, rust was a problem as well

Just installing a better stereo in my Mazda 2. Most of it bought off ebay fairly cheap except the front component speakers. Fitted them yesterday and soundproofed the doors, it was a total pain, but they are way better than what was in it. JBL GTO 609C 6.5" component speakers. Sound good even off the headunit. The headunit is a single din Pioneer with bluetooth that I paid £26 delivered a couple of years ago and is really good, has front USB, 2 pre-outs for front and subwoofer. The Pioneer amp paid £34 delivered off ebay, looks nearly new, this is going to power the JBL component speakers and going under drivers seat. The passenger side underseat sub, took a punt off Ebay, an ancient Alpine, cost £14 delivered. It is really well made, really heavy. If it doesn't work or is crap the wiring will be in-place to fit a new one. Hopefully will all go back together again.

Once upon a time, I'd have been perfectly happy to pull a car dashboard apart to do something like that.

Nowadays, it seems like too much hassle to me. We'll done on giving it a go. :okay:

Years ago I had to drive a Ka from Leeds to Newport Pagnell for a friend. Kids on BMXs were overtaking me, and I swear the off glacier went past. I'd have gladly given my left nut for another 10 BHP at rhe time.

Thanks, getting too old for it now, but really like the end result. These days cars seem to have better stereo's fitted, not the basic ones though. Even so not heard one that sounds as good as all this hassle creates, sure some do though. The old Alpine sub that was a bargain is not really that much good. Ordered a Kenwood underseat sub should be here soon. Not going to get earth shattering bass, but that's not really my thing.
It's the first installation I've done that hasn't produced alternator whine through the speakers. Read online to earth head unit at the same point as the amp, it works. Just going to hoover up all the bits of wire now.

Turbo boost pipe removed in 10 mins including body panel to get access. Reassembly took 15 mins , then the final factory clip was a complete barsteward, took over an hour to get it back into place.

All done now

The clamp is clocked in a certain position, lots a slots and groves to misalign. That with tight space for hands to work.

The clip around the rubber section was replaced with a convenient to hand stainless jubilee clip
