hi there, what do you all think, should I replace the other 3 ignition coils? it was was inconvenient to be stranded by the side of the road. would be grim if it happened again. that #2 gave no clue of it's impending doom, so another may be on the verge, no? cheap insurance? & maybe my mpgs would improve even more, w/ all new coils?

I replaced just 1 on my car - no further issues with the others.

If they're cheap, I'd have a spare. There is no reason to replace all remaining ones, unless they are known to fail regularly

I'd buy a spare. Almost all cars will throw a misfire code, sometimes alongside a ESP or traction control code so you'd get notice something was wrong.
I'd buy a spare because they can have a finite life. Coil pack on my Vauxhall were known to start to fail at 50k. Mine did exactly that at 55k iirc.

so turns out cylinder #2 might have a history. changed the plugs & other coils & saw that the #2 plug was quite clean. anyway now they are all done

really curious what all this corrosion on the #4 coil boot is from

glad it's done in time for my road trip, get-away w/ Wifey

As my shopping list comes together for a service on the Mazda, it highlights how some outlets are creaming us off...
So far got, full set of three wipers, oil and air filter and front brake pads, all Bosch, £111.00
Got some Mannol 5w30 via Amazon, £18 for 5 litres. Fully synthetic, you can't get near that price anywhere. Halfords for their own brand, over £30.
I like Mannol, no loss of oil over 7k miles, very very keenly priced, delivered to the door, what's not to like.
