Exactly...it's a cold snap. We get them most years. Minus 5 or whatever isn't particularly cold. And there isn't much snow

At the risk of maintaining the "here we go, metropolitan nobbers" narrative...for lots of the country it's no big deal and not unusual. Here in N Derbyshire it was colder earlier this winter and there will be a bit of snow but nothing to get excited about

IT’S SNOWMAGEDDON I TELLS YA!

I don't think anyone has a problem at all with the snow and we could deal with it just as well as any other country, except we don't want to and cannot be arsed because... ...

All we want is a "snow day" or seven to "work from home" but instead dick about out in it with the kids / sledge / dog / wear jumpers you wouldn't ordinarily wear and drink more soup than you have for the past year.

The hype about how difficult things are going to be when the white stuff falls is a carefully constructed ruse to guarantee that the "snow day" / "work from home" things happens and much fun is had.

I'm as excited about this as I was aged seven on Christmas eve. However I know it is going to be a huge disappointment with there being a little bit of slush and all melted by lunchtime.

Nothing much over in Shropshire, other than it being a pit parky.

When it comes from the east we never get much snow, ours always comes from the North West, down the Cheshire Gap, like it did in December when we had a foot of snow.

Children, don't forget to clear the roof of your car if you're driving.
