Just got back from a ride.
Didn't get hypothermia once.
It was a bit chilly, but I put that down to it being February and it was easily offset by wearing the right clothes.

If I'd listened to the BBC, I'd be burning furniture by now in a frantic bid to avoid death by frostbite, or worse.
;)

Same...on my chillyometer it was reading "rather chilly". But felt absolutely fine with a thermal, thin gloves. It's a bit colder than normal but I shan't be breaking out the emergency St Bernard

Just been to stock up on bird food for the cold snap and it's a balmy +6 degrees here in sunny North Cumbria

Managed 4.5C here (a bit north of Kendal).

Was up on Crinkle Crags yesterday and the MWIS (weather) site gave the 'feels like' wind chill temperature as -16C. It was seriously cold and even with some full-on winter mountaineering mitts on my finger tips hurt like hell.

Going to get colder too.... -17C (wind chill) tomorrow on the tops:

To be fair the cold stuff isn't supposed to arrive until tomorrow and into Monday. It looks quite dramatic on the charts the forecasters use :

That looks like quite a few heart ECG's I've had... not good ones either.

London 'll be at a standstill.

It is already, horrible gridlocked overcrowded place. The only difference will be that there will be something to blame the gridlock on.

The Mercury has been at 3 here for most of the day. However it’s been clear blue skies, sunshine and no wind. It’s only when it’s wet and windy it becomes a problem. There’s more chance of platting urine than it snowing here. Everything is so sensationalised these days.
Ordered a Chinese and the delivery guy had shorts on.

Nice fresh evening 5 miler with the Garmin getting down to -2.6c.

It is a strange dry kind of cold but with the wind still froze my earoles off. I might dig out a wooly hat tomorrow.
that sort of puts it all in perspective, apparently it is +2 above in london and the BBC has hit the 'time to panic' button.

-2 here, light dusting of snow, bit on the grey side but roads are dry, should get out for a few miles this afternoon.
Its a tad colder then that in London at the moment. The temperature gauge is showing -1° at the moment, at 6am this morning it was -2°.
Like you we are having a light dusting of snow at the moment, a bit of grey interspersed with a little bit of sunshine, but dry roads. Pretty good for the cycle commute this morning but with the wind chill it did feel much colder.

it's cold, but at least it's dry. I find you can warm up quicker than you can dry off! I will continue to motorbike to work unless there is actual snow, then I might have to get the bus
