Ran a new Parkrun this morning.
The Somerdale Pavillon event between Bristol & Bath on the outskirts of Keynsham.
The course is on a flood plain of the River Avon and is dead pan flat, I've previously raced CX on the course, it's a challenging CX but the Parkrun fortunately doesn't use the ramped woodland section, it does however use the Curly Wurly which is a great spiral circuit.

Amazingly I managed my 3rd fastest PR time and was only 18 seconds away from a PB.... It was by far my fastest run of the year still not sure how it happened but I may return next week to give it another go.... 👍

Returned to Somerdale Parkrun this morning with my daughter.

I managed to PB, improving last week's time by over a minute, this also meant a new Parkrun PB... 👍

Moors valley park run (Dorset) for me, 21.39 steady away as I didn't keel over on the finish line. Got beaten by a buggy and a lance Armstrong double!😥🤣😥🤣

Carried on with my tourist parkrun streak and did a trail one around 40 miles away from home. Several more local ones had been cancelled due to the rain warning and the one I did do was certainly soggy. A nice mix of trail and tarmac.

Came 4th in my age category and 4th in my running club (we paid a visit en masse today) so was happy with the outing.

Who else has had races cancelled today due to the weather? The trail race I was due to run has been and let me say that communication around it was extremely poor. My wife heard rumours of the cancellation from another running club and eventually found a post by the organise on a completely unrelated Facebook page. It wasn’t until 2 hours later that Entry Central was updated. We’d normally have been on the road by then as it was a reasonable distance away.

Where are you?

Glorious sun shine in Devon!
Grey cloud in Yorkshire
but torrential rain in Scotland! 😥😥😥

Friend ran the Goldhill 10k last week. It's part of the Dorset Road Race League so he needed to do it as he's after the over 70 award. ( he's 78 ) 😮 He said it's quite lumpy, with Gold Hill itself not being the steepest part of the course.
