Haworth hobble still on!

33miles over the Pennines should be glorious!!

Looks a tad lumpy 😉
All the best for the run and hope the weather is kind 👍
In the dim and distant mists of time Mrs Tenkaykev and I did the " Otter High Peaks Challenge " which was a 40 mile loop that started and finished in Buxton. We wondered why there were two checkpoints almost within spitting distance of each other, what we hadn't noticed was Deepdale was sitting between the two. I'd been on the wagon for a few months prior to the race, but after the race needed a few pints of Guinness to help me recover.

Just entered a local 5 Mile race. It starts and finishes on a running track which is only about a mile from where we live. It's one of the events in the Dorset Road Race League so will be quite popular. Our Club has an annual points challenge which includes doing one of the DRRL events, as well as six different parkruns, volunteering in a non run / walk role at parkrun, and also baking a cake 😎 🍰

Great race, snow on the Pennines but crisp and bright day, little wind.

Took it steady as the path was really technical with lots of hot steps into other people's footholds.

Course reduced to 20miles so a metric century compared to an imperial one on terms of the legs!

Bit more movement done in and around Lowestoft this Morning…..

Really trying to enjoy the process, take in the scenery etc. As well as keeping a bit fitter and getting in some ‘cake-credit of course’ 😎

The nearest I got to running was walking in the opposite direction to a runner going the other way. Still getting over the lurgy.

We had what looks to be about the same level of snow yesterday; when I woke up…..

I didn’t fancy falling and injuring myself in ‘that’; so didn’t bother going out.
Looks decidedly dangerous to me 🤷‍♂️

Hope you get over your man-bug soon 😎

Shortened my planned run this morning as the legs were refusing to obey. It was still pleasant to be out in the fresh air. My route took me within sniffing distance of the local sewage treatment plant, around a small lake, past a Micro Brewery and then past where they make Lush Cosmetics which always smells sumptuous, before meandering past a running track and onto Heathland. I did manage an hour so that's a few more miles in the bank.

Ha !

When I hit the more built-up parts of my town: I really ‘enjoy’ the different smells too. As a foodie going out at tea-time is hellish 🤣

As I’m booked into a half next weekend I thought I’d better do some decent mileage today.
Did just over 11.5 miles of various surfaces, but didn’t notice the headwind had effected me more than I thought until I stopped and started my stretches. Halfway through my reps I stopped for a little lay down, rather annoying that these things can sneak up on me now.

Not sure how next weekend’s run will go as an ultra competitive colleague from work is also going. He’s also over a decade younger, not carrying a stone too much weight, or asthmatic. Not helped by another colleague informing me that he’d “piss himself laughing” if I beat this ultra marathon, tough mudder person. Also I’m terrible at keeping to plans once I’m running in a group, I’ll always push myself until I get into clear air, starting at the back just means I’ve got to fight my way through!
