A surveyor's wheel has measured our local parkrun, Worsley Woods, as a proper 5k, but as a lot of it has tree cover GPS always measures it sort, my watch normally shows around 2.9 miles.

Whenever I finish a run I always use Strava's, 'correct distance function,' to remedy this as I quite often run along old railway paths.

Unfortunately a combination of age and chronic anaemia due to knackered bone marrow mean that I'm currently mid 30 minutes ( the 10 kg of extra weight aren't helping either )
Upton House is a great route with a few lumps. There's lots of parking and a brand new visitors centre, plus a cafe for post run refreshments. If you're down this neck of the woods I'd be tempted by the new Durlston Country Park parkrun run. It's on the coast and is notoriously tough.

I'm down often enough seeing my parents that I could do both if I can get my self up early enough after the previous nights drive! rather than rolling out of bed and a 20mins jog into moors valley!

As I’ve said before; I’m definitely not a runner. But i do really enjoy some power-walking. Starting your day beside the sea; with some blue skies - like today - is really hard to beat 💕

Fabulous photo's. I really enjoy walking, but often find that I've turned my walk into a self imposed challenge instead of just relaxing and taking in more of the surroundings.

Fast walking. Sadly, my running isn't that much faster  11 minute 14 seconds miles this morning.

All counts though Bro ! And a darned sight faster than all those sat on their settle’s 😉

But yes. I can be faster than that ^^ on shorter distances. One of my splits was darned close to that today. Fairly leisurely today for me as I was trying to take in the scenery and enjoy too. Hence all the pics 😎

Thankyou !

Easily done. At 51 I’m now trying to find a balance of meaningful / not to impacting exercise. Whilst enjoying the process 😎👍

Don't be too hard on yourself Mo, lots of people half our ages couldn't get anywhere near that.

You are doing something and that is what counts.

On my cycling nowadays I am almost 3mph slower than I was just five years ago but I am out in the fresh air.

On holiday this week in South Wales so been out for a jog this morning, a great way to discover the village and surroundings, not fast but enjoyable.
