I worked on a 60s Ducati one time and found the electrics to be pretty friggin awful. As for Lucas, my 53 Triumph never gave me a single hint of an electrical issue in about eight years of use, it was 35 years old and dead original when I got it and the original owner was the army so it hadn’t been treated all that nicely either.

anecdotally everyone how a vintage Ducati keeps it in bits on the kitchen table, being "worked on" ..
