Not a dig at you Gwylan. It’s just that a spelling mistake is like a needle piercing my eye. Even I had to check the dictionary for the correct spelling of the word gauge.

I used the word almost every day in my working life. I worked with insulated copper wire of various gauges. There was a red pamphlet sized book of the Gauge number and sizes, cross sectional areas, current carrying capacity and the nearest metric equivalent. By the time I retired everything was Metric, and although more logical I still found it easier to think in gauge numbers.
