We do most of our shopping at Lidl. It's cheaper, and comparable or better quality.

Apparently they have a hormone dispenser at the door that brings out the hidden snob in people.
Yeah, but you pack your shopping in Waitrose carrier bags...

Not wanting to get into the grammar of things , but if I'm not mistaken There's a few supermarket snobs is incorrect .
There's is singular as in there's a fly in my soup
The correct way would be There are a few supermarket snobs because "few" indicates plural, but please correct me if I'm wrong

You are having a laugh now with this,

We have a free supermarket within walking distance, whenever we go it is just us, open 24 hrs and the food is way tastier than any you would get in the big well known supermarkets. The allotment does need a bit of elbow grease though.

That must be one hell of an allotment if it yields milk, butter, cheese, meat, baked beans, breakfast cereal, soap, toilet rolls and the like.

You obviously have trouble with reading as well as getting shouty about spelling and punctuation.

Was it spelled correctly, how many times did you check it after I asked, now ask yourself the same question when I asked you, some people can't understand grammar, some people cant spell, heck some people have other disabilities but you still take the p1ss..............I would like to thank you.....................WELL DONE TINYMYNEWTyou are a c**k

Thanks for participating

I most shop at Aldi as it is the closest, so I can walk there every other day or so, there is a co- op and a tescos which is furthest away. I do do some of the local speciality shops but they tend to be closed when I arrive home. As for the store ambience, I found in the past that it varied between stores and depending on the area. There are certain things they do very well, and a few things they don't do or don't stock the brand I like. I don't think their fish is very good and as @Spinney says I wouldn't touch their frozen peas or sweetcorn. And I don't like most of their crisps and nuts ranges as they seem too salty for me. I do like some of the speciality food that they occasionally get in, but find the opposite when they stop stocking something you like, dried mango last year but then it came back, and currently tomato purée.

Coop are good for the last minute forgotten milk or icing sugar last night, and the discounted bargains in the evening, don't always get the timing if that correct.

I don't like the really enormous shops where you have an aisle of different baked beans to chose from, and when you realise you have forgotten anything that you need to walk half a mile to the other end of the store

I like the fact that they don't have that many staff and so you get to know them.
