After seeing all the adverts over the years, and Aldi selling top brands at lower prices.....we decided to see if they were as good as the ads make them out to be, so instead of our usual shop in Asda we went 5 miles to our nearest store:blink:

what an absolute waste of time, it was horrible, full of chavs all pushing and shoving, mums barging through people with buggies......:B).......very uncivilised, we bought a loaf of bread and bolted for the door, whoever made those ads wants stringing up:gun:

10 Minutes later we back in the tranquillity of Asda:smile:

Never again

With us it is the other way around, ASDA shoppers avoid the hygiene aisle so they can afford to spend more on booze and junk food, and the staff are surly and rude.

Also noticed that Budgens haven't half gone up a class or two. They're more like waitrose now than the bargain shop they're supposed to be, at least in Hedge End, Southampton

One I drive for is OK and big nothing round here can compete with it for choice , I have to admit though I hate Christmas run up because its packed .

Have any of you loyal customers thought about finding who's selling the cheapest of what you like and shopping in several stores for it, not necessarily all in one week, before the logistics of doing that addle your brain. You never know, it might have the effect of driving down prices a bit more for the rest of us. And in case you hadn't figured it out, stores that do loyalty offers tend to auto print out, dosh off, vouchers when they realize you've just popped back in and haven't done your normal big shop.

I'm lucky in that sense all the shops I go to are in a straight line . I shop monthly on main part and daily/weekly on essentials which I get while I'm in .
To me the false economy in shopping is so called ready meals or box meals they are over priced crap and apart from the quorn stuff my daughter has there's nothing boxed in my freezer .I bought ingredients for a lasagne my son said why not buy one ready made I said cosnthis tastes better and its quicker box meals make people lazy

So you don't, otherwise you'd know it wasn't pence we're talking about and here's another handy hint. Do your shopping on your way to somewhere else so you don't waste fuel. Don't worry, I've got more tips, in case you're worried I've run out.
