Another plus for Tesco...............I got an extra 4p off a litre of fuel when I filled up, so the savings keep coming, I didn't know about this until today so worthwhile me shopping there only and building up the points.

The one thing I like it for is the beer because it tells you what pack size is the cheapest , but also as we plan a months worth of menu when it has buy more offers we just adjust the menu to reflect that

The reason we spend less in Aldi is because there are less impulse purchases (apart from cycle event promotions... then I warn Mrs V that there may be cycling related items in the trolley) therefore we only buy the essentials and not luxuries.... For aspirational (i.e special meal/dinner party etc) shopping we go to a M&S or big Sainbury's, When we do shop in Morrisons, Tescos or sainsbury's for a normal weeks shop we usually spend about a third more, we get a third more shopping but said 'shop' still only lasts the same amount of time.....

About right.

Now....expect very very shortly such impulse items start to appear more, as the business expands rapidly in the UK.

Sick of supermarkets being on every corner of the UK.

Just wait until the arse falls out of one of the brands and there's loads of empty boring looking grey objects dotted about.

My money is on Tesco having a hard time in the next few years and start to lose market share.

If I could put forward a suggestion for the most soul destroying place in the UK it would be Asda in Trafford Park.

Just, no.

You note the TV ads were the big four are doing price comparison with a trolley load of grocery's and if x is cheaper than Y they wil give you the difference back or look how much you get from us compared to the other three. You notice they never compare to Aldi or Lidl as they simply cant compete! When Aldi and Lidl started to grow a few years ago Tesco ran a camping stating it was Britain biggest discounter, wonder why?
