I sometimes get dizzy when standing from a seated position, but not from lying down.

It’s been better over the last year, as I’ve tried to pay more attention to staying hydrated. I’ve always struggled to drink enough when riding and have tried much harder to drink when riding and after riding. It does seem to have helped.
Yes, same here - i get dehydrated after riding as I forget to drink enough (p goes very dark ... too much info?). I really must try harder to drink more, and not just beer or G&T

Re heart rate
My rhr used to be 38-40. Long time ago. But I ran a lot and did a lot of sport and was told by my gp I had an athletes heart! A little higher nowadays but not much. As a result I suffer from dizziness when getting up from seated or standing for too long. It’s the HR range I sometime worry about especially at 56y of age. Low 40’s to 184/5 is quite a range. So I always wear a hrm to monitor post ride recovery. If there’s any suggestion of HR remaining high post exercise I would be straight down the hospital.
Did you need your running experience in Rhyl ?

It looks like I've been disqualified from the 1715 race earlier . I can only think that I inadvertently chose the wrong category when entering - is that what the 'UPG' means?......

It's been a slow morning here so I have knocked up an Excel spreadsheet to capture our times and keep a running total. I'll make it available via dropbox so other people can update if I have missed any times.

If you miss a stage it uses the maximum time that the others completed the stage in to calculate your total time. Consequently I'm top of the league! But I expect only until Lee or Bridgy complete their missed stages .

Current snapshot....

I'm sure if I join in, I'll up the "penalty" for missing a stage for the rest of you!

Yes disqualified for wrong category
  • Riders who enter a WBR race in a category lower than the highest one in which they have proven themselves capable of racing may be given an "UPG" disqualification.

Did you go in C cat? Looking at times of B finishers you'd have come 10th. Your w/kg is B cat level too.

Not sure. Zwift has me in A cat (even though I’m plainly not) as a result of a couple of short races (just over 20 mins) I did when I started where I was able to put out bigger watts for a shortish duration. Anything longer and they dip substantially!
