Ok, hope you don't mind a little bike-nerdy pollution of this thread. My plan was to do a final TT test today with the equipment I was going to use for the late summer Chrono Cup this year. Perfect conditions today with virtually no wind and 22 C... but I'm down with a cold
.
The equipment includes:
Michelin power competition tires 25 mm rear + 23 mm front, MET Drone Widebody TT Helmet and an old HEAD Jet disc rear wheel (heavy), Castelli Body Paint 3 Speedsuit, Velotoze overshoes (short) and Grip Grap Aero TT gloves.
The tires an helmet are new to me, but I did the ultimate tire test in a crit with fast and tight corners last weekend. A few of us got dumped at a hill early in the race, so could just go round the corners with max speed. Every single time we rounded a corner, my fellow riders were 15 meters back, so after a few corners I just decided to continue TT style. The point here being that the Michelin's were at least as good as the Conti GP 4000 SII in cormers.
The MET helmet has a bit longer "tail" than the POC Cerebel that I've been using lately, so is not as forgiving. I did some video comparison yesterday and found that I need to keep my head straight at all times, while I can lower my head a bit sometimes with the POC without beeing penelised too much.
