Good news, the hotels we are staying in have gyms/fitness rooms so I can keep training. Yay :hyper:

Don’t know if you remember but right before the DD I was away on holiday. I was getting up early and heading over to the gym before the family missed me. I wouldn’t say it spoilt the holiday but I wish I hadn’t booked a holiday so close to an event I was getting fit for. I promised myself I wouldn’t do it again... but I have... I’m going away with the family right before I go to the alps with the gang . To be honest I didn’t really have a choice as we’d already pencilled in the dates, and it would of gone down like a lead ballon if I’d tried to defer a family holiday on the basis I was in training. But yeah... it is what it is I guess... im not going to go to the gym while I’m away this time. I’m trying to put work in now on the premise that I’m going to drop back a bit in weight and fitness while I’m away.

In your case andy I’d say just keep things ticking over while you’re away rather than focussing too much on it. Unless you’ve got something event wise planned for when you get back. You’ll have lots of time to get back into it.

Another one to work up some sympathy for.
I’m getting “sympathy fatigue”. But I guess being forced to go on vacation between bicycle trips is to be met with pity.

I just hope you’re not forced to eat that second helping at the dessert bar.

I don’t think there’ll be much forcing involved Randy, I’m quite easily persuaded. But I am grateful for the sympathy. Some people just don’t seem to appreciate how tough this type of thing can be!

It will be a maintenance level, just to keep weight in check whilst holiday--ing. I'm going to go back to basics having suffered from fatigue in the spring. Autumn into winter will be base work with a little HIT to keep fresh.

Oh no. Post holiday slump. It’s a fact. If you remember the day you got back from Italy on the ride to Skegness you only averaged 12 mph. And that was with me setting the pace. Imagine how slow you would have been if I wasn’t there. I know somehow you managed 20 mph after you turned around and rode back but that was probably a fluke.

You boys are far too cynical! I’d expect it from you Bob, being so adept in the art of excuses. But I’m surprised at you Lee! ^_^

I don’t know if you’re suffering from 2 years worth of amnesia but I don’t normally find myself in a position where I need to make excuses ;)
