Hoping to do the WBR 4 Laps flat race at 7.10 if anyone around
Rest day for me too .... 2 days of 3 sisters, my legs need the restHoping to do the WBR 4 Laps flat race at 7.10 if anyone around
I was rolling up the KoM at between 2.5 and 2.8 w/kg so I don't think I was anywhere near you. First time I saw you I was 1/2 way up to the tower and you was zooming back down, so I was maybe 8 minutes behind you. I caught a few lightweights on the down from KoM, and worked with one guy to the volcano climb (I lost 35 seconds as I had a drop out too but when we got to the climb he pulled away anyway so wouldn't have made much difference). Then another guy caught me at the top of volcano and we rode together to the finish. He out sprinted me but I wasn't up to much as legs too tired!Well done for finishing especially after doing it yesterday
I tried to work with a group of 3-4 to catch the 8 in front but kept pulling away and they wouldn’t stay with me and slowed to 2.5w I tried to bridge the minute or so on my own and blew up which is when I messaged you to say I would wait. But once that 3-4 caught up I rolled with them before leaving them near the top of the KOM. Trundled up the tower losing interest in continuing and then had a rare blue tooth disconnect which sealed it for me. I am being a bit lazy at the moment to be honest but would rather be out than on turbo but family life getting in the way.

Rest day today then will look for a flattish race tomorrow evening.
My power and endurance are *way* down -- I'm barely making the appropriate w/kg to stay in the C group. I'm down roughly 20% or more for my sustained power output. It's fairly depressing as I was competitive with the top C racers on flat courses and really improving on the climbs before my pulmonary embolism.Think I need to move down to C. I joined the ride tonight smack on 0 seconds so missed the blast off, decided to do an ITT but even so only just beat the D riders. Was stuffed by all B and C riders. I'm sure, had I started on time and blasted away I could have stayed in the C group but my legs just aren't putting out enough power to weight to be in B at the moment. ZP was to demote me too so I think I'll do that and join @JLaw in C group

Won't have much of a chance to reverse that trend until August.
Those sort of rides are good for the soul especially if you get good driver'sI've really enjoyed my last few rides, solo, no desire or pressure to hit certain times or strava segments. If they happen they happen. I have been riding mainly zone 2 and will continue for a number of coming months

It was spoilt by drive by punishment 6 miles from home
You poor guy. I feel sorry for you enjoying yourself on vacation not being able to ride over 100 miles with over 10000 feet of climbing...Such sacrifice. It will come back Jeff, just start building a base through early part of autumn/winter and then add in HIT later part into spring. Keep the low intensity mileage through out the year.
That is my plan, as August will be virtually no cycling, so will lose condition. I will try and get into gyms for a quick spin where possible in August.
