You are entitled to waste your own money. Why people want a lower performing fragile laptop computer is beyond me however….

I expect it's because it's going to be his main and only computer for the next few years. I wouldn't buy a laptop JUST for Zwift - same as I wouldn't buy a desktop JUST for Zwift.

Space and ergonomics.

My desk is not close to my turbo so I have to carry the laptop between the two areas.

That is why some of us use ITX - roughly the size of 1 1/2 shoebox (apple for scale) This has room for proper desktop CPU, GPU and PSU. Always ready and connected. Just push the power button…

I fancied the look of the INOX 1 mile races, but they are at 1655, which is later than I like to race.

So seeing as it's Friday tomorrow, I've created a 2.0km race for Cyclopathy Friday Smash

All one pen (@Peter Salt take note ). Steering OFF. No draft. Just a balls out 2km mass start iTT at 1030 tomorrow.

Ah no I'm just going to miss this, in my head it was closer 11, have fun all

how much does one of those cost, including OS? Just curious?

worlds your oyster, depends on spec whether AMD or Intel based.

I've gone full form AMD gaming PC, not top of the range, but it was the latest ram configuration.
AMD Ryzen 7 7800 X3D
NVIDIA RTX 4070 SUPER GHOST 12GB
32GB DDR5 Ram

I build them from parts. Everything except the ITX motherboard and case is just standard PC parts and can be bought a whatever price you want. Probably the same price as the laptop if buying all new parts, but you have a upgradability path of more RAM, better CPU, better GPU etc.

ITX case £100 (I bought mine second hand for £50)
ITX motherboard w/AMD A620 chipset £140 (I paid a bit more for B650E. Not really necessary, if you are not into overclocking/undervolting ^_^)
AMD Ryzen 5 7500F CPU £145
CPU Cooler £30
2x8 GB RAM DDR5-6000 £60
NVMe SSD 1 TB £50 (don’t need more than 256 GB, but the price difference is negligible)
500W PSU £50
Nvidia RTX 4060 or equivalent AMD GPU £250
Win 10/11 keys can be bought online for £15 - or you can just use it without license, if you can live with the (very) few things you can‘t do.

Grand total £790 w/OS license

No, I bought it for BKOOL, RGT, IV/TPV, Zwift and MyWhoosh. If limiting yourself to Zwift, you don’t need a fancy GPU as the 2014 graphics of Zwift runs OK on modern integrated graphics.
