I agree with @Legs and @CXRAndy that TPV needs more people, but the convenience of DIY races is brilliant. I think there are a decent number of attended races/rides/tours but only a fraction of the number on Zwift.

Ref racing Bots - in some ways it makes you work harder because you know that their capabilities are aligned to yours, so you "should" be able to compete with them. Still much better to whup a real person :okay:

I enjoy racing the bots and most of the time I can't distinguish who is a bot and who is a person.
But the way I see it, TPV is a serious training and racing platform and Zwift is a game. On balance I still prefer Zwift.

There are rumours that Zwift has already created a velodrome 😮

There is a big roundabout at the top or bottom of the grade. But I'm sure I spotted an blurred out oval beside a route I was racing a few weeks back
There's a stadium for running near the beach - maybe that was it?

Not sure how Swift would handle riding with 300 other people around a velodrome.

The names can be a bit of a giveaway - Chinese riders named Ali McPherson, that kind of thing!

I like the idea of including wind and braking in TPV.

I also liked being able to adjust the view to show what you would see looking over the hoods. I find looking at yourself from behind very odd! One guy on a YouTube video was trying to draft another rider for a while before he realised that he was looking at himself!

Always available bot riders sound very handy and will be good practice for me starting out. I can search out real riders later if/when I get properly into racing.

Yikes - I need to go now or I will be late for my pub lunch. Catch you later! :hello:

Also in Zwift, you can have multiple viewing positions and braking with Zwift play controllers .

That's why I quickly snaffled up Martin's advert 👍

You don't have time to analyse stuff like that when you're racing

TPV needs real people to gain traction.
Agreed. It's a good race platform but without real people it's not quite there like Zwift is. It's a good riding platform for getting a hard workout and for free it's good value for money  I'll be using it for a few months so will see how it goes - may not give me the racing I need but may give me the workouts/exercise I need. Time will tell.

I prefer humans as I can try fooling them that I'm struggling and let me draft, or that I'm feeling good (when I'm clearly on my last legs) - can't do that with bots. But the bots do make the ride really difficult and a good workout. I'm never satisfied haha
