Quiet day today for me. Will be 4 years on the 27th that Rach died ... can't believe it's been 4 years now, seems like only yesterday. Not an easy time of year so trying to relax. gf is visiting tomorrow evening and staying until new year, so i'm sure she'll distract me and we'll do some nice stuff.

Hope you're all having nice holiday break with family and friends.

Merry Xmas everybody - hope I'm still allowed on this thread even though I'm not Zwifting.

Nearly jumped on the turbo for a quick Elimination Race this morning - but decided to give it a miss. Lurgy finally seems to be going so I plan to hit 2025 HARD :bicycle:💪

Well, back earlier than expected from Brum where we took Wendy's parents out for Xmas dinner at a pub there. Gonna jump on the turbo shortly - so if anyone fancies a 15 minute Elimination Race - I'm about to set one up for 16:40 on TPV ^_^ :okay:

Hope you all had a great day. Had a day of overindulgence, so the good stuff is going to start on Friday when I get home from the in-laws’.

Went out to parkrun in Hull this morning (Jo was setting another PB) which has inspired me to renew my efforts to crack a sub-17 5k next year.

Merry Christmas folks! Hope Santa didn't leave the actual price on any cycling things you receive
I bought all but one of the cycling things for myself!

That one gift was my heart rate monitor and I chose that so I already knew how much it cost.

Been out for a 30 mile spin, always a good day for a quiet ride, used a road that I usually avoid because of all the HGVs, none in sight today.
I only nipped down the A646 to Hebden Bridge and back today. That was devoid of heavy vehicles and there were far fewer cars than usual. Not entirely surprising given that it is Christmas Day, and not at all surprising given that the road is closed on the fringes of HB!

A culvert had collapsed, which led to a sewer collapsing, which led to the road surface collapsing!! It then turned out that was a second undocumented sewer pipe under the road.

It is a complex repair job. The road has been closed for nearly 2 weeks already and is unlikely to reopen before at the second week of the new year. It is a nuisance for drivers but at least I can get by on my bike on a short stretch of the pavement.

I will be doing the same little ride tomorrow so I can join friends for a stroll to a pub for a Boxing Day meal.

I have made my virtual riding decision! Once I finish this week's road rides I will clean my 6 speed bike and take it upstairs to use with TPV free of charge (on my dumb turbo trainer) until my JetBlack Victory arrives.

At that point I will use my coupon to sign up to Zwift for my 2 free months subscription and switch to the singlespeed turbo bike.

When the 2 months is up I will decide whether to take out an annual sub to Zwift, TPV, or both!
