The guy who won your race got up the KOM second time round in 1:39! He’s got 747W 60s power! ✈️ Impressive for a ‘B’…
I'm kind of past caring for things like that, to be fair. Numbers he got in this race were no higher than my own PBs, so kudos to him. He won because he was better than everyone else. If Zwift algorithm says he's a 'B' than he's the same category as me.

Had a last minute chance to jump on a race so joined only one I could - 1 minute past the hour, 15 secs warm up - Glasgow crit race, happy days.

12 bloody laps! Actually a really fun race. Small strong Breakaway between 4-8 seconds ahead for 10km until last lap when 3 of us bridged and the chase group disintegrated. Bunch sprint at the end, knackered. A really good example of the draft graphics getting better over the years.

I did my first zwift race in 3ish months yesterday in the 1pm Zwift Games race. I got over the KOM and Titans grove with the front group with relative ease but there were some accelerations on the coastal road that had me hanging on. The legs knew it come the Jungle climb and I had to let the group of 40 riders go. Joined a small group of 3 others then got swallowed up by a chasing pack of 40 on the reverse descent of Titans. Finished 50th in the end. A good 2+ hour race. Hard to beat the longer events.

There was guys in your race putting out 4w/kg for 2 hours 🫠
Like I was saying the other day - we need to re-calibrate in our minds what Cat B is now, as the point at which riders are upgraded to A has been raised considerably

Thanks. The results have been very consistent - 6th, 7th, 8th  It probably didn't help that I did a longish CX ride the day before the Epic - I didn't know there was so little time to do it.

Will do the Glasgow event on Tuesday evening and then the Alpe on Saturday morning - now that I know the schedule I'll try to stay fresh for the weekend stage.

You should contemplate doing the Alpe with the As, @Peter Salt , to get as fast a time up there as possible. In a B race, I suspect that you'd be right up front and that, if you're in a group, the others there (and you!) would be cagey and try to shirk turns as much as possible. If you latch onto the right As and pace it well, you should be good for a 45 or better...

First (IRL) race of the season under my belt yesterday - and boy was it brutal. This was mainly due to the conditions. I've just done a race report on Strava if anyone is interested.

Hard as nails Martin! One look outside and if it’s raining I’d sooner jump on Zwift 😂 I’ve had similar experience on a descent off Randa in Mallorca in April - rain came on and by the time I was off the descent I could hardly control the bike and arms were shaking uncontrollably. Well done on finishing and doing so well.

Just a heads-up guys for anyone wanting to do the Friday Smash this week. I've made it a 0945 start because the guys in the US changed their clocks this week, so it's 0545 for them.
Oddly, 0645 is too late for most of them, so I decided to shift it for a couple of weeks until we change ours at the end of March and "catch up" then it can go back to 1045.
