What happened at the start? Why did the E pen take 2 minutes to catch when we were going so slowly?
I think I may make an adjustment so the neutral start only lasts for 60s. It felt like something went wrong with it today.

I've also been told I might be able to ask Zwift to set up the events so everyone is in the front two pens, so I'll investigate that too.
Next week's race is already set up though, so too late for that one.
The E pen seemed a long way back , I was watching joffeys numbers and they weren't hanging around but it still took ages to catch
Edit just watched joffeys video , they caught me at 1.12 at the start banner ,when joffeys sais on but the front rider was already 8 secs up the road and it took us to just before the kicker to close ,

Spent yesterday morning initially fretting about my biggest self levelling job. Turned out ok, family all mucked in mixing and carrying.

I pouring and smoothing out... Just had enough mixture, too close for comfort

Is that underfloor heating I see there? Looks like it turned out well

For anyone doing the ZRL race on Tuesday who hasn't done their own recon ride here's mine from Friday.

My 1 minute power up the legsnapper isn't what it was, but I was quite happy that I did manage to stick with the front group - just! - and came 10th in the sprint. Also encouraging was my power and times up the Legsnapper for each of the three laps stayed pretty consistent - 51 secs/560w, 49 secs/544w, 49 secs/559w. The first lap was actually the slowest - probably because I had a feather on laps 2 and 3.

Not sure what I did in this race will be enough in our really tough ZRL division though!

I did a recon last week. Unlucky with power ups as I never got the feather, but it was a small group so I managed to distance them on the last Legsnapper and make it stick until the end. Not counting on the same strategy for Tuesday

Very consistent Paul. With a race like this Tuesday, with no sprint points and hence no one pushing through that segment, you should fair well.

I'm just hoping I can get up the first time near the front group (never thought I'd be saying that 18 months ago about a D race

TBH we weren’t racing to get on but what I noticed is the front splint into 2 groups. We caught the first one and then had to race on to catch the other one.

Would be great if we could all start from the first 2 pens.

I was kinda ok when we were all one blob but the other E riders must have been goosed as they dropped right off.

That's got to be the best solution if Zwift can do it. I'll ask for it for next week (this week is already set up).

Oh I think people will push REALLY hard on that segment actually - it's the only place to force a split really so I think those who can will really go for it each lap.

Because everyone is waiting for that segment each lap though you do often get people trying for a breakaway away elsewhere when no one's expecting it or wanting to go hard because they're saving themselves or recovering. Some people did try this in that race I've just done but it didn't stick

Sorry, I meant no one pushing through the sprint segment. You're right, that snapper will be where it all kicks off and splits happen. If drooped, it will be about finding a group and hope there are riders there willing to chase, and equally hope the lead group rest.

This is one of my favourite courses to race, so really looking forward to it.

Oh right - yeah that course is REALLY brutal when the sprint segment is in play as well. We did that in the ZRL a while ago didn't we? I remember the finish was particularly brutal with Legsnapper then sprint then finish coming thick and fast in the last 4km

+1 for another vote in favourite race courses on Zwift. Most of us have a love/hate relationship with the legsnapper 😂
