Pete - it's quite simple. Tommy stops calling me a sandbagger and accusing me of cheating, and I'll ignore him. But I don't see why I should sit here and take the cr@p.

So you're saying you won't be stopped from trying to bully others just because you think you have a right to tell others what to do?

You do get the irony here don't you ... you're not being bullied. You are the bully.

The thing is I’ve just called you up on something that’s fairly straight forward. I’m not telling anyone what to do. I’ve just called you up on what you do. What you do is up to you. Just don’t expect me to not say anything.

And when I say something? Well there is a long list of insults that have come my way. It’s been an attempted character assassination Donald trump would be proud of. But it’s all good. Sticks and stones etc…

@Peter Salt for what it’s worth I haven’t started drinking yet. But I can confirm it’s jalapeño margaritas tonight. The magic ingredient is the cucumber 👌

I'm proposing that as this is a team, we race courses that gives everyone an interest rather than ones where we know who will win from the off and it just becomes an iTT.

I don't expect to win an CC race ... I'll probably get dropped on any punchy climb over 60 seconds. For the little punchy climbs, like the aqueduct, I may hang on but I'd be totally in the red and would have nothing left. On a pan flat course, i may get to contest a sprint with everyone else, but I wouldn't expect to beat Tim, Mike, Pete, Bram

This isn't about winning ... it's about having a blast and having fun. I don't care who wins, but I do care if someone is dropped in the first 5 minutes and then has to ride around on their own for 45 minutes. But maybe that's just me ... I prefer to be inclusive

I genuinely don't see how you can choose such a course/s. I suppose it depends on what you and others might mean by "interest" . I have low power compared to practically everyone but that doesn't stop me looking forward to taking part in flat TTT's. FWIW the fact 1 or 2 others may more likely win on a given course doesn't put me off either . I'll never win a race. I don't much care. I'll pretty much finish near or at the back in any race we have except those with longer climbs that might allow a mid table finish. So, for me a mix of courses and the chance to race all and drag my fitness up and banter afterwards is good enough reason to get involved.

And that is perfectly fine. We're all different. Be a dull world if we all wanted the same.

I love races like the Tinys because it's a big field, you need to concentrate all the time, watch other riders, it's tactical (rather than just tapping out a constant w/kg), and anyone could win. As you know too, pretty much everyone finishes about the same time so again ... literally anyone could win.

It's a great VO2 workout. I love that style of race. Where I'm literally ready to collapse at the end and have nothing left in the tank.

It's not for everyone. That's fine. Just like hill races are not for everyone. That's also fine. It doesn't make one person right and the other wrong. It certainly doesn't make me wrong for avoiding hilly races - I personally find them dull, but that's my choice. I get why others find them more exciting, that's their choice and they are not wrong either.

What is wrong is to tell someone what they should do. I'd prefer to let everyone make their own choices and hope that others respect that at 52 years old I'm a big enough boy to be allowed to make my own choices too ;)

What you don’t seem to understand Carl, or refuse to acknowledge, is that sometimes those choices affect others. And that’s when it’s not cool. But what would an arrogant narcissists like me know though right.

I’ve never told you what to do. But don’t trying to say you don’t want an argument but continue to make little comments. Either carry on or stop.
