How do the points work again?

Is this going to change the race boundaries?

(Evening all! Hope everyone’s well.

I’ve not raced for weeks so I’m surprised at my standing. Prob says more about you lot than me 😈 )

It doesn't change boundaries. It gives you a ranking against similar level riders. So all primes and sprints segments you will be battling those ranked No1 in respective teams. Paul will be battling rider 2 and so on.

I'm ranked rider 3 -I think in our team, Carl is no 1, Alex 2, Martin is 4.

Now we need to visually see our respective no competitors whilst in the race

I’m not racing with the team so Paul gets bumped to number 1 I guess?

@alex_cycles is ranked higher than the majority of the B team?…

Any word on the category system getting tidied up?

I know. It's ridiculous isn't it? I can only think it's because I race a lot and somehow it's counting my C race results as equal to a B race result or something stupid like that?
(Points are exactly the same in both teams - so linked to the rider.)

The system isn’t related to power numbers just race results?

I think it's using the WTRL autocat algorithm, which, sadly isn't fully transparent.
https://support.wtrl.racing/hc/en-us/articles/9015194514331-WTRL-s-Autocat-ACE-System

WHAT IS AUTOCAT?

Autocat (or ACE for short) is WTRL's proprietary system of fully adaptable and adjustable algorithms for ranking competition participants and teams.

Essentially, if there is data available, Autocat can use it to determine rankings for any competition based on hundreds of options and data sources. This allows a fully tailorable set of competition specifications.

When used in collaboration with RacePass, ranked participants are only able to access specific races based on the event specifications. Autocat can also monitor registered participants for performance changes against the race specification and move them up or down accordingly automatically.

Each time you click on a RacePass, Autocat is always doing something in the background and has proved a highly accurate way to predict results too.
