As @Supersuperleeds said, La Reine doesn’t go through the start line for VenTop (going across the bumpy middle section of the France map from the pens then up the Petit KOM first instead) so there’s less point carrying on if you’ve got that route selected as it won’t give you a time at the top.
I did La Reine as an event the week it was launched (one of the stages of a virtual TdF) and while it was nice having some other riders around, by the time I came to the stone bridge, everyone had split up and most were either more than 30 seconds ahead or 30 seconds behind me so it became a bit lonely.
I find Ven Top easier, personally. Yes, it's longer, but average speed is greater and it has some flat/rolling bits that up your mood. Also, La Reine is the same exact route that Ven Top takes but just ends sooner. Pretty sure you will get a time if you carry on.
I'm hoping to lure my GF to the area at some stage in the future. She can go cheese and wine tasting while I go up the mountain, preferably three times. Its such an iconic climb in the real world. The sensation when you leave the tree line and enter the rocky snow capped top is something to remember, then the tower looms small in the distance.

I watched Eds live stream at exactly half my time he had 2.1km to go !!!!Yesterday I was watching Ed Laverack's live broadcast when ride that TdZ La Reine stage. His 20min effort was 5,8w/kg (365w). His whole climb was close of that power/weight ratio, impressive effort. His trainer difficulty setting was 25%.
Based on all activity over the last 100 daysHow comes I have points when I don’t even race 😂
Presuming it's like a golf handicap? Lowest points total is the best?
