Is this from intervals.icu? Let me know when doing the alpe, I think I need to try and build a bit more base, only getting on the bike max 2x a week atm
Yep, from intervals.icu.

Is the 'Join a Zwifter' functionality back on Zwift yet? I doubt you'd want to ride with me for all 3.5 hours! I doubt it'll be this weekend because I still need to do ride #22, and Jo's away so I'll be with the boys all weekend. The following weekend, we're away... I'll have to think about it. I prefer riding early in the mornings but my brother's not an early bird, so it needs some planning!

Hi @Cathryn pretty sure I just followed you on zwift (intials PP if your wonder who the hell I am )Level 3 and you follow Cecile Ludwig .
There is a setting within the companion app which as default is turned off which allows anyone to follow you ,you will get complete random people following you . You can set it so you need to approve a follower request like Strava
Most of us on here will have a team name CCC or Splitters after are name

Any thoughts on how I change my actual user name? I thought everyone used their name like on Strava. Now I realise it might be wiser to be a little less TADA, it’s meeeee! I can see how to change my profile but not my user name!

Just done tour de zwift stage 3 La Reine route up to Chalet Reynard . What a boring climb mentally found it tough to keep going . I had ideas at the bottom of going to the top and the tour finish but couldn't find the mental strength to carry on and I did push too hard at the bottom trying to drop Coco which worked for a bit but she had her revenge later up the climb she's a machine !

I think Ven Top is much harder than Alpe de Zwift.

Doing it via la Reine you wouldn’t get a time either as you don’t cross the start line of the climb

I find Ven Top easier, personally. Yes, it's longer, but average speed is greater and it has some flat/rolling bits that up your mood. Also, La Reine is the same exact route that Ven Top takes but just ends sooner. Pretty sure you will get a time if you carry on.

And unlike the Alpe where you have each bend to aim for as a spur to keep you going, by comparison Ventop is so bland that it’s easy to lose focus and slow right down - in my case to the point where you’re tempted to give up and turn around!

La Reine used to be an event-only course until recently. Perhaps doing it as an event would be less boring? It wasn't boring when I raced it, but it was a bit of a slog, and no chance of keeping up with the 55kg guy 'legitimately' doing 3.8 W/kg all the way up.

As @Supersuperleeds said, La Reine doesn’t go through the start line for VenTop (going across the bumpy middle section of the France map from the pens then up the Petit KOM first instead) so there’s less point carrying on if you’ve got that route selected as it won’t give you a time at the top.

I did La Reine as an event the week it was launched (one of the stages of a virtual TdF) and while it was nice having some other riders around, by the time I came to the stone bridge, everyone had split up and most were either more than 30 seconds ahead or 30 seconds behind me so it became a bit lonely.

Did VenTop as a free ride months later and there were probably only ten people on the whole climb and only saw 2 or 3 overtake me (at about 2 w/kg higher so no chance of hanging on) or descending past me at speed! That ride was pretty grim and had I not said to myself that I needed to cross it off so I didn’t need to do it again, I’d have probably quit long before the top. Don’t know about any flat bits - all I remember was a constant 10+% for about an hour in the middle, hardly ever varying.
