Thanks! I suspected as much but it's good to know.

A bit of regularity in my riding in the last couple of weeks is seeing my 'fitness' heading north of where it's been for a while. I don't have the time to put in major miles, but I've been trying to do either a trip up the Alpe or a stage of the TdZ every other day.

Toying with the idea of doing a 3x Alpe ride to get my Masochist badge. I think that twice sub-60 up the Alpe is too soft a target... is three times too much? My bro's keen to join me. I'll let you guys know what the appointed date/time is so that you can join me(!), or at least drop me a Ride On ^_^.

Might as well just do an Everest ^_^

I don't think my legs could cope with 100% TD. I don't want to defile my bike with a wide-ratio cassette just for the sake of doing a virtual ride!

If I were going to do and Everesting, it'd be an IRL one. I've given it a little bit of thought...

My bro did one in November 2020. I'd definitely not be doing it just for the sake of sibling rivalry. Definitely not. Anyway, that's not really on the radar...

I found the FRR series absolutely amazing in terms of building fitness. So a typical Zwift race everyday, for a week would be my way to go - rather than one longer event.

I simply went progressively harder for 4 weeks before and then the 5th week was the series. Followed by a reset, with an upped baseline, another 4-week build up and event week, rinse and repeat.

Taking a break from that now so will be looking to do the typical 2 harder sessions a week with rest Z2.

Looking good!

Just something that I learned when using a coach last year is you will get bigger gains by keeping your fatigue high - when using Training Peaks and Intervals side by side you need to spend more time in the 'green zone' and nudging into the 'red zone' at times. If you are struggling for time intervals are great for this. If you have more time on a weekend then try and get a longer ride in as this builds base and fatigue.

I found on a weekend doing a 40 mile outdoors ride feels easier than an indoor ride but it doesn't half get the fatigue up. Every 2-3 weeks have a rest period - few days off - so your body can recover as you move into your next block.

This isn't a criticism of what you are doing as you are building your fitness up well, it's just what I learned from my coach. Other coaches may tell you different! What I did notice that prior to my injury last year I was keeping my fatigue deep into the green and touching the red on weekends and got great results going from 29 to 55 fitness in 8 weeks. I was still heavy at that point but was doing PBs up some big climbs.

Anyway, good luck with it all, looks like you are going the right direction!! :okay:

Just done tour de zwift stage 3 La Reine route up to Chalet Reynard . What a boring climb mentally found it tough to keep going . I had ideas at the bottom of going to the top and the tour finish but couldn't find the mental strength to carry on and I did push too hard at the bottom trying to drop Coco which worked for a bit but she had her revenge later up the climb she's a machine !

Well done. Only done La Reine once in November for WICR series. Sadly, that was before there was a badge for it, so still not got that one yet.

Is this from intervals.icu? Let me know when doing the alpe, I think I need to try and build a bit more base, only getting on the bike max 2x a week atm
