People who did the same event on Saturday said the finish line is about 1km after the top of the climb (but before the downhill really starts) so make sure you keep on going once you're past the KOM banner. On a good day, I should do this in about 36-37 minutes - let's see what the reality is!

Ta.

Just thought, what is the preferred climbing bike/wheel combo?

I'm doing the zwiftracing.app matchmaking event I was talking about the other day at 1500. Will be interesting to see how it goes.

Go on - join us :okay:

Cheers, are the CLX wheels faster than the Meilensteins?
Virtually the same. But I've never got lucky enough to get the Meilensteins, so I have to use the CLX.
Identical. I got my Meilensteins 2nd time up the Alpe. Funny thing is, once you get them, the wheel of fortune lands on them quite often (like 2/3 of cases) and gives you a 1000XP.

Next time! I'd already committed to this test event. I bought the Aethos yesterday, so keen to try it as well.

I filmed it, but apart from the first 90 seconds, there was no sight of @<Tommy> or @berty bassett I'm afraid, as you two disappeared into the distance.

You would however see an epic battle for 29th between myself and @Norry1 - I pushed him all the way, but could not close the gap no matter how hard I tried and he won by 5 seconds. Still it was good for me, as I got my best ever w/kg and third best pure watts, so no complaints here!

That moment when you’re giving yourself a little pat on the back for a new PB. When you notice your best effort is still only good for 13,622nd on the segment…

Oof…

Yep I recorded it too - but I cocked up my start so I don't even have a few seconds with you two @<Tommy> and @berty bassett ^_^

As Steve says, we had a great tussle. I could hear the jaws music as he closed in and I had to dig deep to stay (just ahead). Great workout :okay:

So the Matchmaking race was...

...fairly evenly matched

Crit City Dolphin. 8 laps. 10 Starters in the Orange race.
The lowest rated rider dropped on lap 3. Everyone else stayed together until about the last 1km. It was fairly hard work, I was pushing 219W for 20 minutes. Then at the end, the 90kg sprinter guy went early at about 900m and stayed off, then it started to split up. I got b@stard XP on the final powerup arch, so had no super-power for the finish. But managed 6th on natural charm and good-looks.

The winner was 1s clear, but the next 5 were in the next second. It felt pretty evenly matched. Quite hard going for me as flat and fast, but wasn't too much to hold on. Beat 3 silvers and 1 gold. Lost to 4 silvers and 1 gold, so a small ranking loss

I think the system did quite a good job of matching riders of similar ability.
