Looks like an enforced rest day today . Zwift bike is in Lbs is in LBS having long awaited new crank set chain and cassette . May finally get decent shifting on the trainer , Late start due to work do last night and now's it raining and 2nd bike is 10 speed not 11 so no zwifting

Did I recommend you buy a chain checking tool a few months ago? Might be mistaking you with someone else!

Having said, that I recommend you get a chain checking tool if you haven’t already got one. It’ll save you a lot of money and faff.

Anyone have first hand experience with exposure rear lights?
Yes. I have the trace and tracer on my road bike. I like the pulse pattern, good battery life and the brightest blip from the pulse is really bright. The only downside, I think, would be the mounting system - it's solid but not solid enough for CX or MTB use.
Tough one isn’t it. On the one hand like Pete says maybe they should just invite the people they see as genuine pro contract contenders. On the other hand I’d go into it knowing I wasn’t going to get the contract just to try and compete. Maybe it makes it more watchable having an age spread? Don’t know if that’s true…
They probably invited her for the show to be more relatable, you know - increase the target audience.

Problem is, she absolutely smashed the competition - I really don't know what she could have done better. Hope some other pro team takes her in, she literally looked good enough to go straight into a pro peloton.

Hey @alex_cycles looks like ZP has put you back in C - Does that put you at the top of the Cyclechat Ride Like a Pro leaderboard? ^_^

It's the schizophrenic nature of ZP/CE systems. I've been a "C almost B" for a while in ZP. It's CE category enforcement which thinks I'm a B.

So I'm OK in C for ZRL and other ZP governed races, but for CE stuff I'm still riding in B for the moment.
Looks like I lost a minute to you on Richmond though. That'll teach me to ride during the day in smaller heats

No it wasn't me . My problem was I was waiting for a Warentry replacement of my Shimano cranks so I've ran a 2nd hand cranks ,chain and cassette way past recommended point so it would work ok on worn cassette on road bike but near cassette on trainer didn't like the worn chain

I bought some USA lights, cant remember the brand off hand. But at the time were the brightest rear light I'd ever seen. There are some that now match it for brightness. They were around £40 each. I bought 4 and put them on my bikes and the kids too. You could be easily seen up to half a mile away on a overcast day. The marshals told me on a TT once, they were brightest they had ever seen.

When can we start putting excuses in for round 3 . No idea of the date but I'm sure I've got something on
Now I've discovered Innsbruck isn't that bad my social calender has change and strangely I can make weeks 2 and 5 which happen to be the TTTs

I wonder if it’s a combination of the things you suggested. But also maybe they saw more potential in the younger rider (I’m saying this as someone who hasn’t watched it yet…). Maybe although she smashed the competition. Her numbers aren’t good enough to compete in a pro team. And they don’t think she has as much capacity to improve at her age?

Plus I guess sponsorship potential is a massive factor.

What's the recording software?

https://recorder.easeus.com/

$19 lets you select areas of the screen you want to record, trim and all that stuff. I've used EaseUS before, just never their screen recorder. Its not the end of the world if it turns out to be poor. Reviews seem positive.

Cheap and a bit more versatile than Windows Game recorder, saying that the built in is very good and near perfect for just recording Zwift. Those wanting to add overlays or even show themselves in a window whilst Zwifting, better program is needed.

Will order tomorrow- going for my 'can of peas' now

You should give OBS Studio a try, Andy. Free forever and will do everything you need it to, I think.

If you fancy a short but climby race, I’m in the Herd Winter League at 15:30 tomorrow. Finish at the top of Innsbruck KOM, everyone in same E cat.

I am going to join the race Steve suggested

It’s at 3:30 so probably not one for World Cup watchers. Or people who have an aversion for getting promoted

Think I'll give this a bash. Not really done a climby race lately.

@<Tommy> promotion would be nice, but somewhat unlikely ^_^

People who did the same event on Saturday said the finish line is about 1km after the top of the climb (but before the downhill really starts) so make sure you keep on going once you're past the KOM banner. On a good day, I should do this in about 36-37 minutes - let's see what the reality is!
