Absolutely awful! Halfway up the climb (or earlier, I'm not even sure now) I just couldn't get the power down- nearly gave up completely!

No excuses, just not a good day. It's actually quite a long time since I've done a long, steady hard effort like that - having got much better with my 1 to 5 minute power in those ZRL races I wonder if that's had a negative affect on my longer term power? Or as I say, maybe just a bad day!

It looked awful! A few people actually tapped out and didn't finish.

Also, if I hadn't seen it myself - I wouldn't believe how many people went for the sprint. People properly care about those jerseys, I suppose. If you don't sprint at least a bit - you risk loosing the blob.

Well done guys! Was hoping to make the race this evening but we've got a virus in the household so feel like dirt. Hopefully get a chance to join the race tomorrow

hope it passes soon - a lot of people going down with bugs around here too - I am treating everyone like a leper at the moment - makes a change to them treating me like one !

I'm slightly confused about the next stage which is Petit Boucle in France. That route is 61km long but the stage schedule says 47km so we don't do the whole course? Is there a more detailed guide to the stages or a group discussion that anyone's seen? Lots of sprint and KOM segments on this one - I'm missing Si Bradley's recon notes!

Ah! Well spotted! Yes, looks like a custom finish banner. That would mean there's no Petit KOM in play as there's no segment for it in reverse. The course would end somewhere around the Marina Sprint, just before the rollers.
