Haven't got a clue.

Also, the course tomorrow (Petit Boucle) has the first sprint 0.6km in. Is that neutralised then?

Where is the facepalm icon when you need it?

Yeah it didn't work too well did it. I was having to do 2.5w/kg to stay near the back of the front pack. People further back were saying they were doing 3w/kg in the middle to back of the group.

And lots of moaning about DQs as well. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I tried to stay just a little back from the front group. Didn't want to risk a DQ, but didn't want to get gapped that early in the race.

Its a nice idea. A bit like the way a Grand Tour stage starts, but difficult to control. Perhaps we need a little virtual car in front with a guy waving a flag to go at 1km!

The way it’s worded on the webpage it seems they’re at least partly relying on self policing from the peloton. They’re requesting screenshots from participants as evidence of jumping the gun. So I guess the trick is early into the pen and do enough to stay near the big blob at the front.

It reminds me a little of the walking races we used to have to join the school dinner queue. Openly running meant being sent to the back. But not trying as hard as possible to be close to the front also felt unacceptable. Not sure what we were in such a hurry for now…

Wrote to race control about the KMZ being within the sprint for some stages. Got a response in 3 minutes. They will address it.

Also, I'm now thinking DT Swiss 62s (non-disc) for the stage today. It's 8km of flat/rolling, 5km of very draftable climb, 10km of proper climbing. Based on that I think I'm going for good all-rounders and these look solid.

We’re supposed to add some itinitials after our names right? But sitting in the pen it doesn’t look like anyones bothering

They're asking for it but it's not mandatory. Basically just there so people can see who they're chasing - a competitor within their cat or someone above.

For you, it would be [GHT]

If you put in the abbreviation for the highest available group then perhaps everyone below that cat will be more inclined to let you go. Just saying…

ZI reckons Meilensteins if you have them (and I think you do)
