IMHO Zwift is missing a trick here. Implement a pace car functionality - organisers can set length and speed (no matter how hard you pedal you can't overtake the car). Sign a deal with a car manufacturer and make it their car. Racers happy, you get a pay check. Win-win.

They already have some of the code as rider speed is controlled when you join a pace partner.

They also have a fence facility on group rides which could be used if they allowed it. Essentially the same as when you stay off the front of a pace partner or group ride for more than a few seconds you get yeeted.

Can they remove the fence mid ride? That would be a good suggestion if they can.

Our race this afternoon was ok to be fair. Only one flyer and even he dropped back when he realised. But I agree with you guys. Generally it’s highly unlikely people will stick to it of their own accord.

Looks like they had the same idea and are asking for a fence. Also changed KMZ rollout to 100 Watts for 400m rather than W/kg.
It's as if they've been reading my posts  (although tbf it's all obvious innit?)

Wouldn't people be rolling at different speeds if "100W" is the limit???? 100W is 2W/Kg for a 50kg rider and 1W/Kg for a 100Kg, and given Zwift's algorithm, that would be quite the difference.

Makes sense. Keeping it at 100W means it will be easier to review.

Went to bed at 9pm last night, woke up 6.40am. Absolutely fantastic night sleep-totally refreshed :hyper:

Was looking forward to today, then son rings ups at 8am, got another puncture :cursing:
After I told him to stay off a particular road:stop:

Tough love-told him to sort it out himself, put phone down :thanks:
They have to learn somehow.

Not sure how it really works in the real fake world
Anyway - it still depends on people doing what they're told, so might not work any better or worse ^_^

How many competitors are there?

I cant see why a usual Zwift start cant apply, unnecessary start, trying to mirror outdoor racing

If you want to be near the front of the start, sign in early :thanks:

At such low power levels, massive blob, and a completely flat road, I'm not sure.

Probably right, but still a stupid "speed". Sometimes you see the same in group rides, where the ride leader says "Let's up the pace to 200W". That is IMHO nonsense and only works if you know her/his weight and then do the wkg calculation first for him/her and then yourself...

Depending on time slot, looks like 100-250 riders.

Can someone explain to me how do you join the pen and then leave to do your warm-up and rejoin in the same spot?
