HI everyone,
I managed to pick up an unused Elite Direto Smart trainer locally for Zwift today cost me £210.
I know it's not the best trainer, but I think it's more than good enough for me.
I started Zwifting when it was still in Beta until 2019, when I decided I couldn't be bothered anymore.
I am using it with my Macbook M1, and am really impressed with the smoothness.
I previously had a top notch 42 inch 4K screen with gaming tower pc.
I will see how I get on.
Gary
I've got a my first 60 miler on the road. I can't actually remember which year last I did that kind of distance.
However I'm taking this cause I'm carrying presents to a village fete
I have a slight teething problem/irritation.
I can feel a random rough feeling through the pedals, I cannot seem to find the problem.
I will try a new cassette tomorrow, mine is 9 speed so I have the 2 shims fitted behind the cassette.
The bike I use is fairly new with very few miles (Boardman Hybrid Pro)
The trainer is unused so cannot see it being anything internal on that.
I have cabled up a Gaming PC I had to see if there was any difference to the Macbook.
Its like watching in real life now, shadows, trees moving, really adds to the experience.
Really need to sort this noise though....

Maybe has something to do with the trainer being second hand but unused? If I understood correctly that's how you got it? So maybe just sat in a garage and needs a proper check, lube, etc.I have a slight teething problem/irritation.

If something has moving parts then you can either lube or grease it. I would take it apart but then again I like taking things apart and putting them back togetherI've lubed the chain, cleaned the chain rings.
I know about adjusting the derailleur for smooth changing,
Its a kind of cross chaining feel, but makes no difference which gear its in.
I dont think its possible to lube the trainer?
It was dusty, and definitely not used.
I have picked up a new Shimano cassette and will try it.
If no luck the Neo 2 T looks tempting.
