PC Keyboard ... Job Done :laugh:
I was waiting for someone to say that! I agree though - hitting the spacebar I did find easier in some ways (still needs keyboard in very easy reach though), but I love my ATV and won't be going back to PC any time soon. If you do use a PC though I did find a couple of youtube videos showing how you could set up a dedicated button fixed to your handlebars to use specifically for activating powerups which I did think looked really good - and if I used a PC I'd be tempted to try and set that up

I do use companion app while riding - but I find selecting the powerup quickly in mid-sprint or something on a touchscreen really fiddly (sometimes with sweaty hands!). I'm trying to make that easier. In theory I'm thinking pressing an actual physical button on the remote will be better, as long as the remote is conveniently located. That's the plan anyway

Fair enough. Out of the two evils I prefer the phone. I have the phone in front of the handlebars anyway for messaging or whatever else so I guess that’s why I go with that. But I think ‘two evils’ is probably a fair description. So defo personal preference.

It would be good if you could program one of those buttons on the handlebar of your Neo Smart bike to activate a powerup wouldn't it?

You could have something like this

Or just a big red button to press with powerups. Maybe connect it to a flashing red siren and some LED lights (it's a good thing I don't have the technical ability to do anything like that)
Yeah that's one of the things I saw- there's a few options like that available. But all for PC rather than ATV I think

Yeah apple TV complicates it. Does seem to be alternative remotes, wonder if anyone's tried any (the caavo thing is the same price as the apple TV but there's bound to be a cheap robust Logitech one)

I find the companion app supplements it okay the way it is mind you

Just signed up for the GCN race pass , half price offer on , £20 for the year. Eurosport seem to be having to play second fiddle to GCN these days and not getting live coverage . Can scrolll all way back through previous races too . Just going to do a bit of zone 2 whilst watching the Middelkerke cyclocross 👍

Thanks @Alongo ..... just signed up for the £20 deal :okay:
Great value imo, now able to watch all the CX races ( my favourite discipline ) - saves me having to search dodgy feeds from across the web.

I thought I was being really clever when I tweaked the gearing on my 9spd hack bike to help my climb real-life Staffordshire hills with my son in the Hamax seat. I mishmashed myself a 13-14-15-17-19-21-23-25-28. It was fine for riding on the road, but since I've moved that bike onto the Tacx I've realised that I keep really wanting 53x16! Back to the shed, methinks - I can definitely ditch the 28T!

I know you all like cake so here is my birthday cake from the weekend. I have put 3lbs on so far but I have nearly finished it. It's surprising how I am far more dedicated at completing the cake rather than completing Zwift...
