No worries - it was only a short oneGreat ride all. Got a bit messy in places but done good I’d say.
Thanks @bridgy beast doing that twice tonight mate thanks. 👍🏼
Personally ... and everyone will be different ... but I'd go on how I feel more than what numbers will tell me. It's easy to talk yourself into feeling more ill than you are so maybe use the numbers as an aid only? I couldn't ride in a cold shed with my asthma, so maybe that's a take from last night - if you can, try to get the air a bit warmer next time. That alone I think will make a massive difference.Morning guys, someone on the forum was asking about the Whoop I wear which basically monitors your strain, sleep recovery etc.
I thought I would give some feedback about the Whoop and last nights race which was hard for me personally trying to hang on to the ccc team team whilst being in a freezing garage breathing in lots of cold air.
This morning the whoop showed my hrv to be very low which is not good, my recovery data very low which again is not good and my respiratory rate high (not good).
So basically the whoop is telling me I’m f*#k**d and I need to take it easy today and get some good sleep later for recovery.
I’m now thinking is this data good to know or not when it’s that crap because mentally it’s not making me feel very good before I head out to work!
Anybody else suffering today after last nights race?

That's very annoying - and a bit surprising really because those are such standard parts and the ones made for trainers are usually built pretty solidly because they're not trying to be weight saving or anything. I've not seen non-QR ones made specifically for trainers, no - but I suspect you were just particularly unlucky with this one.Well done to everyone in #23, #68, and CCC last night. And to @Del C who’s WTRL team seem to be going from strength to strength.
It was a disappointing one for me - I planned to ride for #23 and #68, but had to stop pushing shortly after the KOM in #23’s race.
Just before the KOM I could feel the bike moving side to side on the turbo slightly and looked down to see the lever on the skewer flapping freely. The bike was slipping gears as a result and I cursed myself for not tightening it properly when I had the bike off the turbo at the weekend.
@<Tommy> had a great suggestion of jumping off to tighten it on the KOM descent but as soon as I touched the lever it came off completely 😱
I got back on and did one more turn but couldn’t sustain it - the bike was wobbling side to side which was making me nervous and it kept slipping gears so it was difficult to get power down.
Have ordered a new QR skewer on Amazon Prime and opened a ticket with Wahoo but I’m a bit pi$$ed off - I’d estimate that I’ve ridden on this skewer ten times and it’s failed!
You can just see the lever on the floor in this first picture, and both bits after removing from the bike in the second.

To be honest, I don’t really need quick release so happy to have a skewer bolted in but couldn’t find one online last night when looking. Has anyone seen a non QR turbo trainer skewer??
Just so we can all mentally prepare ourselves (and possibly lose a few kilos between now and next Tuesday!) here's what we have to look forward to in next week's ZRL stage - 3 laps of this:

This segment made up part of the big first stage of last season's ZRL so that seems like a good place to take timings from. One lap of the above took me 19:20, so we're looking at around an hour of riding. And my time up the KOM was 8:04 that day - so three times that is a fair bit of climbing!
