Good call. It boots up very quick and it just works. If you have an iPad you already probably have an apple Id (that was the only relatively painful thing about setting it up for me)

I'm really pleased with mine, after numerous laptop & phone connectivity issues the ATV is a revelation :notworthy:

Another Apple TV fan here - it just works. Starts up instantly, launches the app instantly, doesn't glitch or lag in game.

Yeah you can get better graphics on a dedicated machine but there is either more faff or more expense to go along with that (and usually both, frankly). For me (and a lot of others) Apple TV appears to be the sweet spot.

If (hopefully just when) Apple do release an updated version I will be buying it for the pain cave, then putting the current 4K in the living room

I haven't done a race write-up here in a while, of course my results the last several months have been pretty disappointing. But it feels like I'm turning the corner.

I'd already raced M, Th & Sa, so I wanted to do something shorter, so back to those daily Crit City races. 8 laps, 10 miles, less than 45 minutes from warm-up to done. We had maybe 40 registered in the C pen. I was a fairly restrained start, which I was happy for as my legs were a bit sore and I was able to get into the lead group of a half-dozen or so and we slowly built a ~30 second lead over the similarly sized chase group. It never felt like the pace was being pushed hard and after a few laps the chase group started closing the gap and nobody seemed interested in pulling hard to stay away. I stayed tucked into the draft fully expecting we'd be caught.

Sure enough we were, I saw the chase group getting close, so I moved to the front and was able to latch on as they past. Things got scrambled and I didn't get a sense of whether or not anyone else from the original lead group was able to hang on.

No major fireworks on the penultimate lap. On the final lap there was a quick flurry of burritos through the little bumps (thankfully they were not a coordinated effort), but I don't think anyone got dropped. I used my truck to get a bit more rest after coming down the cobbles. The winning move came from fairly far out, two riders went early, myself and ~4 others let it go. I surfed wheels a bit, and was ultimately unable to get around the rider that pulled me up to the two leaders. I ended up 4th on the road, 3rd on zp about a half second from the win.

I was particularly happy with the early realization that we were going to get caught in the lead group and thus there wasn't any point in pulling and to be up in the front as the chase group came around. I was disappointed that I didn't go early with the two riders at the end -- if it'd been a lone rider I think it would have been OK and we'd have caught 'em.

It doesn’t work with my ANT+ equipment, doesn’t run BKOOL and some other sims, has mediocre graphics and only at old school 1080p and 30 fps, horrible remote, limited Bluetooth connections, no recording/streaming etc.
But yes, it loads Zwift fast, which is to be expected with onboard flash and low quality graphics/textures.

Has anyone tried the Analysis tool on Zwiftpower? I just tried it for the first time and it is really good (and easy to use). I wanted to compare my new NEO 2T to my existing Powertap P2 pedals. Have a look at the graph and table below:

Incredibly close match. It will be interesting to see what it looks like on a less steady state ride. I'll probably try it after the WTRL race tomorrow.

Well done Jeff, sounds like the form is coming back!

Those are the type of files that would bring a smile to GP Lama’s face.
How are you finding riding the NEO?

I think the fast load on zwift is a big selling point to be honest. It’s the winner for me. If zwift changed their system you you didn’t have to log out every time you finish a ride then maybe appletv wouldn’t be as popular as it is. But among people who only use zwift I hear about more and more people using it.

It's a bit soon to say Bob although early indications are good.

Firstly, the User Guide is pathetic/non-existent which is a bit strange. I managed to get the NEO installed and have had one short test ride and one 2hr 30 min endurance ride on it so far.

It feels really smooth. There was a bit of a noise to start with but I kindof focused on lening/pulling to my right for a while and it went away. Not sure what it was. There is a bit of etallic rubbing noise in my top gear but I think that is drivetrain catching somewhere.

I've not tried Erg mode yet, so can't comment on that. I should have a better idea how it performs after tonight's race.
