Thanks guys. You did Rach proud
Karl, I've only just looked at this forum for the first time in several days - I'm very sorry to hear the news about Rach, my sincere condolences to you. My wife is starting to look concerned at how much I've been drinking over Xmas but raising a glass to Rach tonight will give me just the excuse I need to carry on before getting all sensible and healthy again - so cheers to you and Rach Best wishes and take careThanks guys. You did Rach proud
Yes, I worked for Amlin Underwriters from 1999 to 2004 then I did a couple of contracts for Catlin and Canopius underwriters. Loved working in and around the Lloyd's building and Leadenhall Market.Carl, I didn't know you worked at Lloyds.
My father in law was a name, in the 70's
Have you heard of Christopher Moran? My father in law had something to do with his disbarment from Lloyds
What time is the race tomorrow ... I'll see if I can join you and test my racing legs. If I can lend a wheel to you I will, but I'm assuming I'll be dropped pretty sharpish so won't be much helpStage 3 of the BC South Christmas LIZR Series last night - Rising Empire 20kms.
Over 100 riders in the Cat. C race ( I'll get my excuses out the way first - no proper warm up plus worked night shift so very little sleep ).
Start was very quick and I missed the lead group & also my club mate who had managed to cling on to the second group. I struggled up the first climb of the KOM, but did manage to catch a few of the heavier riders. By the time we were climbing the KOM for the second time my clubmate was in sight and I now felt stronger, I managed to catch him and open a gap of 20 seconds which I managed to hold to the finish.
Dropped a few places in GC, now 36th, which I expected after the Hilly stage.
I like the GC concept for the series adds a good bit of fun along with the competitiveness.
Final stage is tomorrow 2 laps of Tick Tock so hopefully I'll be able to gain back a few places on GC......

I won't be able to ride this year, but I have great memories of the feltet series from last year. I'm assuming this is the same series? The Danish Cycling Union and feltet.dk has announced the 2021 installment of the hugely popular UNO-X Cup. First race is Wednesday January 13th.
As always, the A-cat will be livestreamed and race previews/reports will be posted on feltet.dk.
