Mostly been new baby and a few bugs in a row. I was surprised at how little difference there was between the power meter and trainer. I did drop some watts but my numbers were still in A Cat until baby and illness in August and September.

I'm getting close again so do need to try and race smarter. Averaged 4w/kg including aero tuck at every opportunity on Tuesday!

If a race went up some big climbs like the Alpe I think I would put out A numbers, but probably not high enough for immediate DQ.

Edit - just had a look at Zwiftpower:

Green line is where I fitted the power meter, red line is where I lost my mojo.

Strangely, avg powers are identical in the events immediately before and after power meter install! There is only really one more event to compare (the iTT), but the numbers there are comparable too. So I don't think it was the power meter that sent me backwards. It's a shame that I didn't get more races in before losing my mojo, especially climbs - that would have made it clearer one way or the other.

You can see the long lay-off. I wasn't feeling right for the WTRL time trial but pulled through it, then came down with illness and it took me until October to get back on the bike - that is where I lost the watts really.
Maybe you could try dual recording your power on an event Legs to really confirm. I did that recently in a race to check that my upturn in results wasn't down to changes/mis-reading of power meter. I was pleased that there was only a 5W difference in the average power between them, which seemed a reasonable tolerance.

What I haven't got round to investigating yet is whether there is much difference in the readings of the power curves between the two. My short-term/sprint power numbers have been good so I'd like to know that they are valid. Maybe leave that until after the end of the ZRL league

Interesting. I forgot you weren't well for a while. That must of knocked you back a fair bit.

Its tough to take too much from the numbers without knowing the different distances / profiles / field sizes etc? And races just pan out different ways right?

It doesn’t surprise me the power meter differences are marginal. They say the neo reads lower than assioma’s but from what I can tell for me that would equate to about 10w or lower difference at 300w. Maybe what you’ll find is that there’s less variation in your numbers. But again I just don’t know how you measure that. Do a ftp test every week? Think I’d pass...

Did anybody watch the uci event on zwift? Seemed like a bit of a damp squib
I just flicked through the footage on YouTube, and eventually just watched the last 3km for the finish. The route wasn’t really going to ever make it all that exciting racing.
