Mostly been new baby and a few bugs in a row. I was surprised at how little difference there was between the power meter and trainer. I did drop some watts but my numbers were still in A Cat until baby and illness in August and September.
I'm getting close again so do need to try and race smarter. Averaged 4w/kg including aero tuck at every opportunity on Tuesday!
If a race went up some big climbs like the Alpe I think I would put out A numbers, but probably not high enough for immediate DQ.
Edit - just had a look at Zwiftpower:
Green line is where I fitted the power meter, red line is where I lost my mojo.
Strangely, avg powers are identical in the events immediately before and after power meter install! There is only really one more event to compare (the iTT), but the numbers there are comparable too. So I don't think it was the power meter that sent me backwards. It's a shame that I didn't get more races in before losing my mojo, especially climbs - that would have made it clearer one way or the other.
You can see the long lay-off. I wasn't feeling right for the WTRL time trial but pulled through it, then came down with illness and it took me until October to get back on the bike - that is where I lost the watts really.
