I dropped into about 90th of 118 but advanced upto 70th as the climb progressed. It unwound a bit on the false flat at the top and a large front group split off. 4 of the #23ers were in it but Andy and I were just caught out behind.
You chaps where very unlucky to get caught on the wrong side of that split on Otley. If I recall we were very close to each other near the top and the group ahead seemed to slow and then it all took off again in the last 100/200m when a slight gap opened.

Looking forward to next week and will be good to go for the win even if we have each downed a bottle of Champers in the starting pen. The Noobs in 2nd place will be under pressure and I’d love it if we can overtake them - they’d be deserving of some sledging after all their cockiness

I think you did some pretty good sledging yesterday as I recall :okay:

Just placed an order for some new aero rims. :hyper:

A tad different from the norm, with superwide internal rim width for bigger tubeless tyres.

Next is to source some colourful hubs/nipples

Probably going with sapin spokes once hubs decided.

Expect March '21 for completion

Nice 1 Andy. Nothing like a bike related purchase to boost the mojo a bit at times! 👍😄

what rims did you go for? I ordered a set of farsport tubular track wheels about a month ago so hopefully they come soonish.

Its a bit of a motivational move for me. Im expecting life to have a little bit more time for things like cycling come spring.

I bought these 65mm aero rims from Light Bicycle in China. Ive requested 28h spoke pattern to aid stiffness.

They are gravel specific rims/wheelset. Im going to run 30/32mm tyres in tubeless

I didn't get the built wheels, as they didn't supply 28h in the hubs I preferred.

Im expecting less than £700 for the pair once built by my local wheelbuilder.

Im in no rush due to him breaking both wrists whilst motorcycle track day accident:B)

I used farsports for a set of deep rim carbon wheels - 60mm with Sapin spokes and Bitex hubs. I was really pleased with the quality and service. They shipped within a week of ordering and as I recall I had to wait a week or two for delivery. I'd recommend to those who want a set of carbon wheels but are put off by prices of 'regular' brands.

Yeah the value is excellent. Since testing proves most wheels aero is basically identical dependent on depth and shape. You’re basically looking at the quality of the rim, the brake track for rim brake wheels, and the choice of hub and spokes. Mine won’t have a brake track so braking capability is irrelevant as it would be with discs. I think the newest wheels from campag, mavic etc have a superior brake track. But unless you intend to go out in the wet I think it’s a moot point.

This is most strange!

Go bar, fig rolls and sugary cola bottles. Yep! I get all of them.

But why a sugary pair of testicles?

😄

Dunno about sugary balls, some chilli powder might have an effect!

I'm watching the women's World Championships on Zwift at the moment and they have a new graphic "Efficiency Rating"

This is speed/(w/kg) and the higher the score, the more efficient the rider is. That would be a really good thing to see on screen to see how we perform on that scale - and hence how you can improve.

Cheers Bridgy. Yes a very good race for me last night. My scratch race results have been improving steadily during the series so it was good to finish right near the front, just missing out on the win in the sprint finish :gun:

I really 'enjoy' the TTTs though so looking forward to the CC#23 victory parade next week 👍

@peterob -just looked at your numbers. Super strong last night mate:thumbsup:

I’ve been doing a bit of research on building a new pair of disc brake wheels . Malcolm at cycle clinic has just commissioned his own hubs to be made by Miche . He is very knowledgable and a highly respected wheel builder and with his expertise I think he has designed these hubs for long life , strength and serviceability.

Bit of a leap for him though isn’t it? I’d prob wait a while to see how they pan out. Just my two cents...

Sounds a bit like the Variability Index on Zwift Power?
