Had two days off the zwift FTP builder due to a hangover then fatigue from looking after a toddler with said hangover

Session today had me just above my FTP (10w over) for 6 mins, then a break, then 6 mins at FTP.

Felt much more manageable this time, and felt like I could probably keep the above FTP effort up for the 20 mins. So maybe the plan is paying dividends.

Have you got plans for racing , there’s a new season of the Zwift Racing League starting early January , put those gains to use with one of the CycleChat teams .

Like @Alongo has also suggested - have you thought about racing?

My FTP went from 239 watts in February to 303 watts in December with no training programmes. Just racing and steady rides.

Get yourself jumped in at the deep end. You'll not regret it.

@straas as the guys say, racing is definitely the most addictive part of zwift- we will potentially have 3 teams of different abilities for the next zwift league in the middle of January, so plenty of time to see if it's for you!

So after a phone call earlier with @Ketty it prompted me to try some Thomas The Baker mince pies that he raves about. So today I have been mainly eating mince pies. And to help you all this Christmas I have written full and comprehensive reviews on the three I have sampled today:

Lidl deluxe mince pie - 7/10 (pastry not too good, falls apart)

Thomas mince pie - 8/10 better pastry, nice and crunchy but mince is a bit tangy

Bettys mince pie (I think they do 2, these are the ones with a swirly top) 10/10 - PERFECTION, chewy topping and smooth tasting mince meat. A delight to eat. I'm washing it down with their festive tea, a truly fantastic combination.

The Co Op puff pastry mince pies are very nice too but I have not eaten one today. They are probably about 8/10. And Tesco Iced mince pies (like Mr Kiplin) - they are 9/10 - I could eat boxes of them. Lovely.

I have to say my favourite are the Essential Waitrose ones, nice sweet mincemeat in a good pastry 🥧... 👍

3 large Kondiiter and Cook mince pies for me today-lovely. Hopefully a bit of sugary power in them for tonight.

That has to be one of the hardest courses on zwift. Nowhere to hide except for the odd 5 seconds of supertucking.

@BurningLegs in the points with another cracking effort.

I ended up 34th but just delighted to not have any technical issues (two ant+ dongles!). Unfortunately Jeff inherited the technical issue today.

Thought I might have a hope for the first set of primes but just too many climbers (someone averaged 4.5w/kg across the entire race). After that it was a constant battle to hang with any group.

Some cracking rides across the board. Looks like team 23 did well- is that our @peterob on the podium?
