Prizes for the Team IRL autumn series in each category as follows:
1st €100 voucher for Marrey Bikes (online bike shop)
2nd Team IRL Autumn custom kit
3rd €50 voucher
Sprint points - green custom kit
KOM points - polkadot custom kit

Places are time based GC. If you miss a race you get awarded the time of the slowest rider.
Friday evenings at 7pm is race day - personally not the best day or time but the prizes could tempt me.
The catch is that you need to join Team IRL Zwiftpower team and have a UK/Ireland postal address.

Who's riding the last stage of 3R Sundowners series tomorrow night? Looks like the final stage is - unexpectedly - a time trial!

I'm currently 11th on Cat B GC and @IrishAl 14th - we've had a good little battle between us and we're only 47 seconds apart so definitley still all to play for. I'm 3 minutes behind the guy in 10th but there's three people including Al who are only a few seconds behind me on GC so I'll be racing to not go backwards!

Having said that, it's a relatively short TT and there's a few riders in the top 10 who are VERY close to an upgrade to Cat A, so I'm kind of pinning my hopes on a couple of them over-doing it a bit ;)

Oh I didn’t realise it was a TT. I think the TT mode only works on Tempus Fugit and Bologna so I presume we all go off together but drafting is disabled? I rode the Casse Pattes course in a race a few weeks ago and it was a 32 minute event - the petit KOM makes it a bit more tactical than the flat Tempus course. I think based on recent performances even back to the round 1 TT that your time is safe but I’ll give it all and hope to hold my overall GC position.

I may join the 3R Sundown TT tomorrow but there's also the CC meetup on Wednesday and can only do one of them. What was the format of the meetup on Wednesday @IrishAl? Were we looking at doing a (partial) race or is it more of a group ride?

The ZRL is due to start on Tuesday 13th October. Provisional start times are either 7.15pm or 7.45pm, but these are still subject to change so not yet confirmed - although you can be sure it'll be somewhere around tehse times.

Stage 1 is LONG and HILLY - a 50km race on Big Foot Hills with points available at 3 intermediate KOM points plus the finish line obviously (plenty of time to discuss tactics for trying to get points later!)

@IrishAl , @Brendan Parker and I have put our heads together and our proposed teams are as follows:

Cyclechat #23
@IrishAl (Captain) ✔
@bridgy
@<Tommy>
@Alongo
@Norry1
@peterob

Cyclechat #68
@Brendan Parker (Captain) ✔
@mjd1988
@bobinski
@Spartak
@Ketty
@Joffey

I hope everyone is happy with that - there's obviously a number of riders who are incredibly closely matched so it was a difficult decison but we've tried to pick the #23 team based on logic, noting things like best 20 minute power - and rider weight, noting how hilly stage 1 is.

Sorry to those who've expressed an interest but aren't included in #68 - we think we've chosen those who showed the strongest interest in racing as we're in the good position really of having a few more people available than the max team sizes of 6.

Can everyone listed above please confirm that as things stand they are up for and able to ride? If/when we hear any more details on exact start times we'll let you know.

Cheers all :thumbsup:

Cheers for the time you guys are putting into organising this! :okay: Yeah, that's fine with me. I'm obviously disappointed not to have made the A team but such is life :laugh:

Cheers for the time you guys are putting into organising this! :okay: The course on Tuesday REALLY doesn't suit me so I'm happy if you wanna sub me out for someone else... but if no one is available I'm happy to ride. Let me know closer to the time ^_^
The other two riders who expressed an interest were @steverob and @JLaw if either of you are interested in riding instead of @Joffey ?

Oooh, that's a very interesting development; certainly puts the cat amongst the pigeons in terms of tactics. I'm 10th in C and three seconds behind the guy in 9th. I've actually beaten him on 4 of the 5 stages so far, but the one loss was a big one (over two minutes) and that is what I'm trying to pull back.

Before I knew it was "no drafting" (have just confirmed that on the actual Zwift signup page) my plan was to go out the pens as fast as I could and then hold on to as strong a group as possible for the flat first 8 mile section to try and hope that my rival was in a group further back. And then just pray that I didn't get caught on the Aquadec and Petit KOM climbs once I lost my draft.

Now it's a completely different kettle of fish - want to try and keep a steady effort of just above FTP for most of the course, leaving me a little bit of leeway to put the power down over the KOM and the run in to the finish. Also might be easier to keep tabs on my rival and see how far up/down I am on him as the field will be all strung out without any drafting.

I think riding a TT bike might actually be worth it as well - could just make those few extra seconds of difference.

Yeah I can confirm I'm available next Tuesday. Thanks @bridgy (+ @IrishAl and @Brendan Parker) for organising.

Looking forward to it, although not particularly stage 1 :ohmy:

Yep, TT bike will DEFINITELY be quicker. And also, yeah a mass start TT will be really interesting as people will be able to mark their rivals on GC - or be brave and trust in their own pacing strategy if their rival goes off to fast for their liking. It's going to be all sorts of "fun"!

Kind of happy not to take part in this round to be honest. A 50km hilly ride isn't exactly my strong suit, plus it's also on my birthday, so I'll take it as Cyclechat's gift to me that you're all working hard so I don't have to!

Super excited about this, although course is just not for me at all so glad I'm not in one of the 67 best teams.

I will try and target the intermediate sprint but sounds like a few hundred people will also be doing that, with a fair bit more success
