This explains why I'm crap at hills

Well there's irony for you - I decided to do the whole of last week's Innsbruck race on the Tarmac Pro cause I thought that would be my lightest option!

My only previous attempt at that course I did an aero-ish option for the 3 laps (don't think I had the Tron back then), then a bike change to the Pro under the motorway, while this time I felt I couldn't be bothered with all that fuss and thought light for the whole thing might just be better than aero for the whole thing. But it all still worked out in the end with me setting a PR and closing the gap on my rival (which ZwiftPower now has as 3 seconds instead of 2) before the final event.

I’ve been waiting over a year for this bike to be released in the real world. I guess using it on zwift is better than nothing 😄. Can you tell if it’s faster than the tron if you only have the level for 808’s?

I think when they test on flat/rolling they use the 858/super so th Tron is still the fastest if you don't have that wheelset. I think the margins are pretty fine anyway, but no point not spending drops!

Yeah I just ‘bought’ it. I think I’m the opposite to the majority maybe. I like that having the tron means your head isn’t bobbing up and down the whole time. But if the aeroad was faster I’d go with it. I mean like you say, it’s a thin margin anyway. Maybe on a course like Surrey hills or Yorkshire the aeroad is the better choice even with 808 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the invite @IrishAl but I was too late.
Joined my clubs first virtual club ride for 90 minutes instead, six of us puffing & panting our way round Watopia too ( using Discord made it fun - discussing favourite cakes & biscuits ).
The organiser also choose the Mega Pretzel route....

thanks for the meet up Al. done just over 2 hrs of it
got a proper whooping up one of the hills by someone even though trying hardest , was nice to coast down other side to get breath back !
did anyone watch giro yesterday - that course looked lethal !
