I’m in the same boat @Ketty - no Facebook but would quite like to find a regular team for a Thursday TTT. We might be forming our own at this rate
I fell victim to Facebook. Had it years ago with the usual collection of the old school “friends” that I didn’t particulate get on with, didn’t like, and they probably didn’t like me either. I quit it for a few years, deleting the account, but then when i took up cycling i was sucked back in as the local club stuff and race stuff was all published on Facebook. I didn’t add any of the people i had lost touch with but over the years I now have amassed 100s of “friends” some genuine, others just acquaintances at best. I wasn’t very disciplined about declining the requests and I do put up the odd photo or two but none of the ‘poor me’ stuff you see people putting up. Then With the Team IRL thing I was getting tons of requests from people I’d never met on Zwift let alone real life.

Lads, we will go with Tuesday 8th September for our next race, and just keep it to Tuesday Evenings going forward for the foreseeable. I think that day of week suits most people.

I'm not sure how much fun clinging on to your coat tails would be xx(

Might be some other interest on here though so you may be on to something......
I've toyed with the idea but I just can't commit 100% each week so haven't joined a team as I may have to drop out at short notice. Does sound like fun. I can see you doing well in this format as you're such a strong C rider lots of teams looking for a C would snap you up :okay:

edit: thinking about it maybe they have a webpage?
www.wtrl.racing is the webpage. But it’s for detailed results and team captains to register their team. I don’t know how without Fakebook you would go about getting a team and the weekly communications needed in organising the team. Start times, pens, tactics, etc change every week so it needs a platform for this.
Maybe @Ketty you could try a new thread on the cyclechat forum and that way you could get a team pulled together? I Can help advise on getting the team registered etc if it takes off.

@Ketty Tim, these guys at England Cycling Cub (https://www.englandcc.co.uk/wtrl) are looking for team members. They do use Facebook but also email and their webpage. Spotted this yesterday - might be of interest? I don't know anything about them so couldn't say if they're a good bunch or not but could be worth a try :okay:

Yeah I've considered it but wouldn't want to let people down

Also a lower power B rider whose specialty is drafting at the back then sprinting at the end isn't high on anyone's wishlist  maybe if I drop down to c at some point

The categories of the teams isn’t standard mate. I raced in latte class. Which was 3 b cat and the rest c cat so it works well. Get involved it’s a great format. I would join you guys but my boys football is Thursdays now so can’t do them anymore.

I think these guys are a fairly new cycling club, but they seem to set their teams up weekly via their webpage and email.

So, a couple of possible advantages so if you're Facebook averse or think you may not be able to commit.

Firstly, obviously you don't have to use Facebook, although if you use it just for cycling as @<Tommy> suggests I still think this shouldn't be a big issue.

Secondly, it looks like you have to sign up each week to race, so you're opting in rather than opting out. That should reduce any fear of letting people down
