For anyone else interested .... here's my recording. You'll notice I miss the start of the race ... it was only as @Brusgaard caught me and I was thinking "wave to the camera" that I remembered I hadn't actually started the recording Oh well, the first few minutes were pretty boring anyway

Pacing is key tonight - can't see me catching anyone before the hill starts. I'll be saving myself for the climb where it matters the most, so, should Del or Brendan misjudge their tactics and try to catch me too early I'll pounce on them as the road goes skywards **

I admit I seriously misjudged my tactics.

I went on a 108 mile ride to Brighton and back!

I think I had a similar plan to you Al. I figured I’d try and hover around 300watts on the flat and then empty the tank on the climb. Unfortunately my body didn’t share my brains optimism! 😄. Again it sounds similar to how your race panned out...

First time for me riding that course and boy that hill was tough.



@Whorty if Leith Hill had been a kilometer longer you'd have caught me... 😉

I think I started the 1st part of the hill, before the KoM started, a bit too easy - I still had some left in the legs when I crested. But hey, that's racing ... get the tactics wrong and pay for it

I think what tonight showed though is how strong you are - pushing some great w/kg numbers on the flatter sections. Get some more races in, and learn the skill of Zwift racing, and you'll do really well Very impressive tonight mate

My mate’s son was riding with us. He shot off the front and I went off after him. He got past the slow cyclists and so he was in front of the cars blocking me. He finished in 6.47. I reckon I’d have finished with him. Would have put me in 2nd place on the CC group. Except..........

Apart from Ditchling it was great!

Just a nice social pace. Rode with my mate and his son. Completely hit the spot!

The guy in second (@Add) Has never gone up that hill for whats it’s worth. I sold him a bike computer a few years back. Deleted my data on the garmin, but somehow a lot of my times from before then have popped up under his name. Strange.

We should do a CC Brighton Ride or Tour of the Surrey Hills.

Both great places to ride. I need to have a crack at my Box PB again!
