I’d be up for an IRL ride, especially box hill

Got a new arrival due next week though which will almost certainly scupper it

Oh that’s just rubbing salt in the wound.

My mate’s son was riding with us. He shot off the front and I went off after him. He got past the slow cyclists and so he was in front of the cars blocking me. He finished in 6.47. I reckon I’d have finished with him. Would have put me in 2nd place on the CC group. Except..........

I did it with a 40kg saddle bag full food and tools, so my time is severely compromised ;)

Did you notice I mentioned food first:biggrin:

I think I started the 1st part of the hill, before the KoM started, a bit too easy - I still had some left in the legs when I crested. But hey, that's racing ... get the tactics wrong and pay for it

I think what tonight showed though is how strong you are - pushing some great w/kg numbers on the flatter sections. Get some more races in, and learn the skill of Zwift racing, and you'll do really well :okay: Very impressive tonight mate :notworthy:

Thanks @Whorty

It was a rush to make the 18:30 start, negotiating the 3 motorways that surround Bristol, I got to the start line with approx. 7 minutes to spare, so didn't have a proper warm up.

I have to admit I do like flat short TT's, so the early stages of last night's race suited me and I was able to push out pretty good power, however as soon as I hit a hill I struggle, although with you hot on my heels I probably pushed harder than I would normally have.

It was a good duel between us and I look forward to more in the future... 👍

Does anyone here use Probikekit, and want to share a referral code/link?

I'm considering a purchase and haven't used them before. They would give me 10% off if an existing customer refers me. I think the existing customer gets a £5 credit for each referral.

Too far for me to travel although a few years ago ( b4 kids ), I did drive across to Surrey to take part in The Tour of the Surrey Hills Audax event, I recall staying in a lovely youth hostel set in woodland.
That's a great ride.

It's really a sportive but at Audax prices.

I've done it about 3 times and its a hard route. Got a gold time the 2nd year, lost fitness and struggled for silver the following year.

Normally takes place on a Sunday in August, although I haven't checked if its affected by Covid this year.

We could certainly ride the route without having to enter the Audax. I'm pretty sure there are .gpx files of the route and I may even have one myself on Strava

I've only got occasional access to wifi/data (really quite nice in a way!) so I've only just seen the results- well done everyone, sounds like it was "fun"!

Nice "steady" ride there Tommy at 306 watts

Leaderboard much as expected, except I did also expect Al to beat my time, but with all the other races you're doing at the moment you probably have a valid excuse!

All I hope for the guys who beat me is that it hurt them as much as it hurt me! :hugs:

That looks pretty gruelling!

Close to Guildford train station though which is on a main line so folks looking to travel by train shouldn't have to faff about with too many changes...

A steady 306?. Definitely couldn’t ramp it up going up the hill which was slightly frustrating. I knew your time was good going in. And it proved to be mate. Doing that on your own you should get some bonus points. Unfortunately I don’t make the rules andI’d quite like to hold on to third so...

I have nick. For some reason I think I’ve had problems with them but I can’t remember what it was over. But when I have time I’ll see if I have an account that’ll free up a code. Give me an hour or so mate.
